  • Publication number: 20170365166
Abstract: The disclosure includes implementations for estimating a presence of an obstruction in a roadway using wireless vehicle data. A method may include receiving a Dedicated Short Range Communication (“DSRC”) message that includes path history data describing a path of a first DSRC-equipped vehicle with lane-level accuracy over a plurality of different times while the first DSRC-equipped vehicle is traveling on a roadway. The method may include determining a presence of an obstruction in a specific lane of the roadway based on the path history data. The obstruction may be indicated by the path history data because the path history data indicates that the obstruction affected the path of the first DSRC-equipped vehicle while traveling in the specific lane of the roadway. The method may include providing a recommendation to a driver of a second DSRC-equipped vehicle. The recommendation may describe the presence of the obstruction in the specific lane.

  • Publication number: 20170357703
Abstract: A partitioning policy, comprising an indication of an initial mapping of data records of a stream to a plurality of partitions, is selected to distribute data records of a data stream among a plurality of nodes of a stream management service. Data ingestion nodes and storage nodes are configured according to the initial mapping. In response to a determination that a triggering criterion for dynamically repartitioning the data stream has been met, a modified mapping is generated, and a different set of ingestion and storage nodes are configured. For at least some time during which arriving data records are stored in accordance with the modified mapping, data records stored at the first set of storage nodes in accordance with the initial mapping are retained.

  • Publication number: 20170359364
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for generating term frequencies of known terms based on crowdsourced differentially private sketches of the known terms. An asset catalog can be updated with new frequency counts for known terms based on the crowdsourced differentially private sketches. Known terms can have a classification. A client device can maintain a privacy budget for each classification of known terms. Classifications can include emojis, deep links, locations, finance terms, and health terms, etc. A privacy budget ensures that a client does not transmit too much information to a term frequency server, thereby compromising the privacy of the client device.

  • Publication number: 20170357005
Abstract: Techniques for improving positioning performance using categorization of navigation signal environment are described. A mobile device can receive signal environment data. The signal environment data can represent multiple geographic areas. The signal environment data includes a respective signal environment category for each geographic area, each signal environment category corresponding to a degree to which geographic features in the respective geographic area affect reception of the navigation signals. The mobile device can determine that the mobile device is located in a particular geographic area represented in the signal environment data. The mobile device can then select a set of one or more rules for aiding location estimation. The set of one or more rules can correspond to the signal environment category of the geographic area. The mobile device can estimate a location of the mobile device using the navigation signals and under the set of one more rules.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for digital-to-analog conversions with adaptive digital offsets. A digital offset may be determined and applied to a digital input to a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and digital-to-analog conversions are then applied via the DAC to the digital input with the digital offset. The digital offset may be set to account for one or more conditions relating to inputs to the DAC, with the one or more conditions affecting switching characteristics of one or more of a plurality of conversion elements in the DAC. The digital offset may be determined dynamically and adaptively, such as based on the input and/or conditions relating to the input. The adjustments may be selectively applied to the digital offset for particular input conditions.

  • Publication number: 20170357238
Abstract: A system and method for gauging and auto correcting geometric tolerances in respect of a work piece is disclosed. The method includes receiving and storing one or more desired in respect of a first work piece from a user. The method further includes measuring one or more desired in respect of a second work piece; comparing the measured one or more desired in respect of the second work piece with the corresponding stored one or more desired and assessing, existence of a deviation within a predetermined tolerance range in one or more desired measured in respect of the second work piece based on comparison. Thereafter, the method involves auto-correcting one or more desired in respect of the second work piece based on identified deviation, such that the corrected one or more geometric tolerance values in respect of the second work piece is equivalent to stored one or more desired.

  • Patent number: 9841502
Abstract: A probe is described for analyzing a target using an array of transceivers formed of transmitter/receiver pairs. As opposed to the prior art, the high voltage trigger signals from used to trigger the transmitters are separated from the output signals of the receivers thereby resulting in a simpler and more efficient circuitry. Moreover, the output signals are delayed to compensate for the delays in the echo signals from the target due to the varying distance between the different transceivers and the target. The probe can be used for analyzing pathological organs, as well as many other objects such as gas pipes, airplane wings, etc.

  • Publication number: 20170349181
Abstract: A lane management system for operating an automated vehicle includes a navigation-device, a vehicle-detector, and a controller suitable for use on a host-vehicle. The navigation-device is used to determine a preferred-route to a destination of the host-vehicle. The vehicle-detector is used to determine a relative-location of an other-vehicle proximate to the host-vehicle. The controller is in communication with the navigation-device and the vehicle-detector. The controller is configured to determine an alternate-route when the relative-location is such that a preferred-lane of the preferred-route is obstructed whereby the host-vehicle is unable to follow the preferred-route. Alternatively, the controller is configured to determine an initiate-time to perform a lane-change necessary to maneuver the host-vehicle into a preferred-lane of the preferred-route so the host-vehicle can follow the preferred-route, wherein the initiate-time is determined based on the relative-location.
