  • Patent number: 6135221
Abstract: A drive assembly for a track-laying vehicle adapted to travel in a horizontal direction along the ground has a horizontally elongated frame having two opposite ends and upper and lower edges extending parallel to the direction between the ends, a drive wheel at one of the ends, a support fixed on the frame between the ends, and a guide on the frame extending between the fixed support and the other end along a line forming an acute angle with the direction and extending downward toward the other end. A movable support displaceable parallel to the line in the guide carries an idler wheel at the other end. A spring braced between the supports urges the idler wheel parallel to the line away from the drive wheel. A plurality of ground wheels are mounted along the lower edge between the drive and idler wheels and an endless track looped around the wheels extends parallel to the direction along the idler wheels. A drive connected to the drive wheel rotates the drive wheel and displaces the track around the wheels.

  • Patent number: 6070114
Abstract: In the case of a data transmission system for the exchange of digital data between a central processor unit and several peripheral control modules which are connected to the former by a bus system such that communication is enabled and which are provided for the purpose of activating one each, respectively, out of several safety devices such as airbags or belt tensioning systems, or similar devices, in a motor vehicle, and wherein these peripheral control modules are each provided with one buffer capacitor whose energy content is sufficient for operating the respective module, and the device driven by this module, within specifications over a limited period of time, the bus system is designed as a single wire system for the purpose of achieving a simple setup and reducing installation and fitting costs. In this single wire system the control modules are supplied with electrical operating energy, and digital data are transmintted, by the same line sections.

  • Patent number: 5499954
Abstract: A method and arrangement controls a regulating variable which determines the rotational speed difference of a clutch by selecting a phase with a curve of the regulating variable specified by a time function during a transient clutch condition. The beginning and the end of this phase are fixed by one or two influencing variables which are specific to the vehicle. One of the influencing variables is determined by the accelerator pedal actuation and another variable is determined by the clutch temperature.

R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, y and n are so chosen that together they form a polymeric basic structure which promotes glass formation and prevents crystallisation, and X.sup.- is a halogen atom. The halogen ion is replaced by an equivalent of a mono- or polyvalent organic or inorganic counterion different from the halogen ion and suitable for the adjustment of the desired solid body properties.

  • Patent number: 5249476
Abstract: An automatic selector device for multi-gear change-speed gearbox includes a multi-way valve which can be driven into several valve positions each associated with one gear by a stepper motor whose operation depends on an electronic control unit. Each of the valve positions causes the appropriate gear to be selected. The multi-way valve is connected kinematically to a selector unit which can be actuated manually in order to block gears through the intermediary of a stop and an opposing stop.

  • Patent number: 5240093
Abstract: A pressure supply to an automatic selector device of a change-speed gearbox, controls working pressure via a multi-path valve device. The working pressure is supplied either only to clutch actuators of two drive clutches located in the force path before the change-speed gearbox or to selector actuators for the actuation of selector clutches producing the force path within the change-speed gearbox. The clutch actuator of one drive clutch is subjected to a load-dependent main pressure in the latter case.

  • Patent number: 5172602
Abstract: A method for the automatic shifting of a multi-path toothed-wheel gear change box between two gears which are formed in a first gearbox subunit temporarily engages a middle gear formed in a second, parallel gearbox subunit. It is simultaneously ensured, by control of the working pressures for actuating the power-shift clutches connecting the gearbox subunits to the input shaft, that the speed characteristic of the input shaft shifting is essentially steady without remaining at the middle gear speed value.

  • Patent number: 4322729
Abstract: A method of accurate friend-foe recognition on the basis of secondary radar through the provision additional special information in both the interrogation device and the responsor device during the formation of their respective signals. This additional information is solely practical and valid for the respective responsor device undergoing interrogation so that the answering signals provided are valued as answers coming from a friend-responsor device. Additional steps of utilizing the time position of the additional information and the uniqueness of such information with respect to a simultaneously available great number of responses makes it still more difficult for a foe-responsor to pass itself off as a counterfeit friend-responsor.

  • Patent number: 4319243
Abstract: An airport-surveillance system for determining the position and identification of aircraft (4) on the airfield which utilizes secondary radar and includes an interrogation station (1) installed on the airfield (3) and from which the interrogation signal is transmitted by way of a narrow sharply forcused beam of an antenna which scans the airfield and further includes transponding stations installed in the aircraft (4). The present invention provides accurate identification and location of the aircraft by utilizing a receiver which has a sharply focused antenna beam and which is geographically located a distance away from the interrogation antenna and wherein the replies from the transponder of the aircraft are received by the receiving antenna only when the interrogation and receiving antenna beams (2, 22) intersect. By scanning all locations of the airport, the position and identification of all aircraft on the airport can be determined.
