Abstract: Herein is described a data placement scheme for a distributed query processing systems that achieves load balance amongst the nodes of the system. To identify a node on which to place particular data, a supervisor node performs a placement algorithm over the particular data's identifier, where the placement algorithm utilizes two or more hash functions. The supervisor node runs the placement algorithm until a destination node is identified that is available to store the data, or the supervisor node has run the placement algorithm an established number of times. If no available node is identified using the placement algorithm, then an available destination node is identified for the particular data and information identifying the data and the selected destination node is included in an exception map. Most data may be located by any node in the system based on the node performing the placement algorithm for the required data.

Abstract: A system may be configured to allow for the translation of content, obtained and/or presented by a media cast device, to different languages. The translation may be performed based on translating the text of closed captioning information provided with the content, and generating audio based on the text. The translation may be performed independent of music or sound effects, such that only speech is replaced, without affecting other portions of the audio.

Abstract: A system and method relate to identifying comments associated with digital content and submitted by one or more users. The comments are parsed to determine terms included in the comments. The respective classifications associated with the comments are determined based on the terms, and at least one classification of the digital content may be identified based on the respective classifications associated with the comments. In one implementation, the classification of the digital content is determined based on identifying comments associated with a portion of the digital content, and identifying a particular classification associated with at least a threshold number of the comments associated with the portion.

Abstract: Freezing applications is disclosed including receiving a request for an application installed on a computer system, and in response to the request, setting a status of the application to a status value indicating that the application is to become unavailable while maintaining the application and its associated data on the computer system where the application cannot be invoked or run by an operating system after the status is set to the status value.

A drain electrode of the first access transistor or a source electrode of the first access transistor may be electrically connected to both an output terminal of the first inverter and an input terminal the second inverter. Abstract: An application program recommending method may include acquiring current context information of the terminal, acquiring an amount of context information generated when the terminal runs a first application program, where the first application program refers to an application program stored in the terminal, determining a to-be-used recommending mechanism according to the amount of the context information generated when the terminal runs the first application program, and determining, according to the to-be-used recommending mechanism, a second application program corresponding to the current context information, where the second application program refers to a to-be-recommended application program; and displaying the second application program. In this way, accuracy of predicting an application program to be used by a user is improved. Moreover, when historical information of using an application program by the user is insufficient, a to-be-recommended application program can also be accurately determined.

Embodiments of the present invention mainly apply to a power control process in the Co-MIMO system.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus and a system for cooperative resources scheduling and cooperative communication are provided. The method for cooperative resources includes: obtaining, by a network central controller, statistical information of all the users dominated by it in a first time period, dividing base stations to base station cooperative clusters according to the statistical information, and transmitting cooperative cluster dividing result to the base stations. The corresponding method and apparatus for cooperative communication are also provided. The solutions of the embodiments of the present disclosure can increase the transmission rate and user experience for the users at the edge of the cooperative cluster, and improve the fairness of the system users, while reducing the signaling overhead of the system, separating the computational tasks and reducing the difficulty of implementing the whole system.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for processing user information, a mobile terminal, and a server. The method includes: collecting, by a mobile terminal, terminal information; obtaining prior probability information of different types of user activities at current time and in the position; and recognizing or forecasting, according to the prior probability information and the terminal information, an activity of a terminal user using the mobile terminal. In the embodiments of the present invention, during the recognition or the forecast, the number of data samples increases, and therefore accuracy of the recognition or the forecast is improved; in addition, a difference between information that is pushed to the terminal user by applying a recognition or forecast result in the embodiments of the present invention and information in which the user is interested is comparatively small, and therefore terminal using experience of the user can be improved.

Abstract: A precoding method, a precoding apparatus, a Frequency Domain Equalization (FDE) method, and an FDE apparatus are provided in the embodiments of the present invention. The precoding method includes: performing offset modulation for a transmitting signal vector; calculating a precoding matrix according to the offset-modulated transmitting signal vector and a receiver decision signal vector, where the precoding matrix is used for performing precoding for the transmitting signal vector; and performing precoding for the transmitting signal vector according to the precoding matrix. Linear precoding is performed by using the offset-modulated signal on the transmitter, and therefore, the interference caused by multiple antennas and multipath propagation is reduced, the system BER is reduced, and the complexity of implementation is low.
