  • Publication number: 20210295987
Abstract: Systems and techniques for monitoring, predicting and/or alerting for census periods in medical inpatient units are presented. A system can include a grouping component that defines a group of beds at a medical facility based on at least one grouping factor, and a group stability component that determines a measure of occupancy variability for the group based on historical census data for respective beds in the group. The system can further include a model selection component that selects one or more census forecasting models for the group based on the measure of occupancy variability, and a patient census component that applies the one or more census forecasting models to current patient flow data for the medical facility to forecast an expected occupancy level for the group during one or more future periods of time.

  • Patent number: 11112341
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for measuring the spreadability of powders and granular materials for applications that require powders to be spread in a thin layer. The apparatus consists of a test surface or powder bed for receiving a material sample layer, one or more spreading devices that form a layer of material sample on the test surface or powder bed when there is relative motion between the test surface or powder bed and the spreading device, and one or more scraping blades that remove the layer of material sample created by the spreading device from the test surface or powder bed and move it to one or more measuring devices to determine the amount of material in the layer of the material sample. The amount and consistency over time of sample material removed by the scraping blade from the test surface or powder bed indicate the spreadability of the material sample.

  • Publication number: 20210256358
Abstract: Systems and methods for machine learning architecture for time series data prediction. The system may include a processor and a memory storing processor-executable instructions. The processor-executable instructions, when executed, may configure the processor to: obtain time series data associated with a data query; generate a predicted value based on a sampled realization of the time series data and a continuous time generative model, the continuous time generative model trained to define an invertible mapping to maximize a log-likelihood of a set of predicted values for a time range associated with the time series data; and generate a signal providing an indication of the predicted value associated with the data query.

  • Patent number: 11068922
Abstract: Systems, computer-implemented methods, and computer-readable media for a customizable redemption header for merchant offers, such as online coupons, across browser instances are provided. In some embodiments, a user may open a merchant website in a first browser instance executing on a user device. An offers website may provide offers, such as online coupons, in a second browser instance executing on a user device. When a user selects an offer, an offer identifier may be stored in a browser-accessible storage device. The modification to the browser-accessible storage may be detected and a customizable redemption header having an offer redemption identifier, e.g., a coupon code, and instructions may be provided on the merchant webpage in response to the detection. Additionally, the customizable redemption header may provide user feedback requests upon submission of the coupon code.

  • Publication number: 20210133736
Abstract: A method of generating electronic monetary tokens (tokens) on a server that supports transmission of the tokens between third parties by means of a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also prevents double spending of the tokens. The tokens are represented by a substring of a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), which identifies a resource in a network. As a payment request the substring comprises an indicator of price. As a payment for a resource the substring comprises a set of tokens and a buyer's unique identifier. On receipt of the tokens and before releasing the resource to the buyer the seller requests an indication from the server that the buyer owns the tokens thus preventing double spending of the tokens. Preferably, the URI is a Uniform Resource Locator (URL).

  • Publication number: 20210080298
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for measuring the flow of powders and granular materials through orifices under dynamic conditions. The apparatus consists of a container for receiving a material sample to be investigated with one or more orifices, a means of moving the container to initiate flow in the material sample and to allow it to flow through the orifices in the container, and a means of measuring the amount of material flowing through the orifices. The amount and rate of material flowing through the orifices is a measure of the flowability of the material sample.

  • Publication number: 20200382871
Abstract: Concentric rings of speakers in a room are activated in sequence to emit test sounds that are picked up by microphones placed in the ears of a listener in the middle of the room. The output of the microphones is used to generate plural HRTF spheres that are concentric, and that can be convolved with each other to render a multi-distance HRTF filter that can be configured to “move” the perceived distance and bearing of audio objects “inside” the outer sphere as desired, without being restricted to placing the audio objects at the outer edges of a single sphere. Any desired placement of an audio object between spheres is done by interpolating between respective coefficients of the closest spheres.

  • Patent number: 10856097
Abstract: Left and right ear HRTF coefficients are determined for an end user, one each for each of a plurality of head orientations, and provided to the end user on a portable recording medium, or via the Internet, etc. The user can then implement the files on audio played on the user's headphones, with the file corresponding to the user's head orientation being selected as the user moves his head to ensure the sound as perceived by the user remains emanating from a fixed external location. The user's personal HRTF may be generated using panoramic images of the ears, such as multiple 2D images or 3D imaging.
