  • Patent number: 6803236
Abstract: A diagnostic system for monitoring catalyst performance in an exhaust system comprises a plurality of treatment devices catalytically treating an exhaust gas stream, and a plurality of gas sensors for monitoring the catalyst performance of the treatment devices to determine when sulfur poisoning occurs. An on-board diagnostic system receives signals from the gas sensors, and, based upon response time differentials between sensors, determines whether the treatment devices are experiencing sulfur poisoning.

  • Publication number: 20040146453
Abstract: A process for producing BrSF5 includes providing a first reactant including a metal fluoride of fluorine and a metal M selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and Ag, providing a second reactant including BrF3, combining the first reactant and the second reactant to form a mixture, wherein the first reactant and the second reactant are allowed to contact for a period of time sufficient to produce MBrF4 in an amount stoichiometrically equivalent to a quantity of BrF3, and providing a third reactant including SF4, wherein the third reactant reacts with MBrF4. The process for producing BrSF5 can further include providing a fourth reactant including Br2, wherein the fourth reactant is provided before, during and/or after providing the first reactant, the second reactant and/or the third reactant. • Patent number: 6730190
Abstract: An in-line method for making a water-activatable laminate. The method includes providing a polymeric film having a first surface and a second surface. An opaque water activatable material containing from about 5 to about 40 wt. % pigment and from about 60 to about 95 wt. % binder is applied to the first surface of the film using an in-line coating technique selected from a flexographic coater, a rotary screen press, and a rotogravure coating technique. The coating is then dried to provide a single water activatable opaque layer having a thickness ranging from about 0.60 mil to about 2.0 mil. The binder for the opaque coating layer includes a mixture of solvent, butyl acetate, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and propylene glycol. The laminate may be used multiple times without adversely affecting its ability to reveal and hide images.

  • Patent number: 6658407
Abstract: Query objects facilitate accessing data contained in a database by allowing a user to query the database without having to know SQL or the relationships between the underlying tables in the database. These query objects are built from clauses and are related to each other by clause operators. These query operators define operations on the query objects, such as union, intersection, and intersection-complement operators. New query objects are constructed based on operand query objects and the query operators by which the operand query objects are related.

  • Publication number: 20030145224
Abstract: A method and a system by which to achieve authentication intrusion detection so as to effectively detect and prevent unauthorized access to and use of a local computer system, or the like, and take appropriate measures. The local system authentication process is redirected to an authenticator broker system (i.e. a secondary authentication system) that makes use of the local system authentication process paths and the local system authenticator file. The authenticator broker system includes an authenticator broker system file having stored therein secret authenticators of prospective users, a mapping file to assign a replacement identifier for the identifier entered by a particular user at the local system and redirected to the secondary system, and a decoy authenticator file to assign a decoy authenticator for the secret authenticator entered by the user and originally stored in the local system authentication file.

  • Patent number: 6490906
Abstract: The carriage has a main frame supported by caster wheels. A vertical mast is connected to a mounting stud on the main frame. A tubular sleeve is slideably mounted on the vertical mast and held in fixed positions by a pin. A winch fixed to the tubular sleeve has a winch cable that extends over a roller on top of the mast and has a hook that engages the sleeve to raise and lower the sleeve. A mounting stud on the sleeve receives an accessory base or cable guide pulley accessory. The accessory base receives adjustable attachments for supporting vehicle components such as doors, hoods, bumpers and trunk lids. The cable guide pulley guides the winch cable to pull dented sheet metal vertically or horizontally. The carriage is anchored in place, when pulling dented sheet metal, by a retainer.

  • Publication number: 20020154173
Abstract: A graphical user interface for direct control of data displayed in a window-based computing environment. A slider element is displayed which is variable in size according to user input. The slider defines a selected area of an image, which is then displayed. The scope of the selected area corresponds to the size of the slider. The resizable slider is then resized by a user's direct manipulation, e.g. by a click-and-drag technique, to redefine the selected area, which is then displayed. The scope of the redefined selected area corresponds to the size of the resized slider. Accordingly, a user directly controls (by resizing the slider) the scope of data displayed in a window, and directly controls the presentation of data by translating the slider to define various selected areas. More than one independently resizable slider may intersect to define the selected area and provide independent control of scope in various directions.

  • Patent number: 6466328
Abstract: A method of the present invention includes receiving a print request from a computer application running at a first computer. After which, all pertinent print information needed to complete the print request is obtained from the computer application by engaging the computer application with a print process controller at the first computer. Another step creates a spool file for the print request at the first computer. The spool file is then transferred by a file transfer manager from the first computer to a second computer. The method includes storing the spool file at the second computer for processing as a print job at the second computer. Preferably, the transferring of the spool file from the first computer to the second computer occurs over a wide area network. This method may further include the step of releasing the computer application from engagement with the print process controller when the print process controller obtains all pertinent information to complete the print request.
