  • Patent number: 9731484
Abstract: A method and a device are disclosed for making thin plastic films having two or more layers, which are subdivided and separated in the form of tubular bags for portioned reception of different products, wherein the plastic films are provided with welding seams running substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction with predetermined spacing between one another to form bag-like containers, and the containers are separated from one another by a cutting or separating process, the method being characterized by the steps: a) welding the films with predetermined spacing by means of an ultrasound welding process, maintaining a defined, film-dependent distance between a processing tool and a counter tool while welding; and b) separating the tubular bags welded in this way by means of a mechanical cutting process, with or without reduced ultrasound excitation at the point of the respective weld seams.

  • Patent number: 5423674
Abstract: A firing installation includes a combustion space fed by premixing burners having combustion air inlet slots along the length of the burner bodies that create a tangentially directed inflow of combustion air. Fresh air guides are positioned along the inlet slots upstream to guide fresh air into the slots, and include an end plate having a plurality of perforations that act as air injection nozzles. Movement of fresh air through the nozzles creates a vacuum that draws combustion air from the combustion space into the inlet slots where it mixes with the fresh air to form a combustion gas mixture.

  • Patent number: 5249955
Abstract: In a burner for operating an internal combustion engine, a combustion chamber of a gas turbine or firing equipment, which consists essentially of at least two hollow conical partial bodies (1, 2) positioned one upon the other in the flow direction, the ignition of the air/fuel mixture forming in the hollow conical space (14) takes place by means of ignition electrodes (24a, 24b, 25a, 25b) which are placed at a location where there is a low flow velocity of the combustion air (15). This achieves the effect that the flame tongues starting from the electrode ends (25a, 25b) of the ignition electrodes (24a, 24b) can feed a flame front (7) forming at the outlet from the burner continuously and along ordered paths, i.e. paths directed in the flow direction with slight swirl in consequence of the motion of the combustion air (15), so that a stable reverse flow zone (6) forms.

  • Patent number: 5207569
Abstract: A method for adjusting a burner during the start-up phase in a furnace operated with recirculated flue gas (3), the furnace is subjected to a pre-flushing period prior to start-up. The furnace is started with a constant fuel amount (5), the fresh air (2) aspirated from the outside at first being reduced by means of a control. In the beginning, the stoichiometric or near-stoichiometric air balance for combustion is provided by recirculation of the fresh air (4) in the furnace. Following ignition of the burner, an increase of fresh air (2) from the outside will take place as a function of the diminishing fresh air (4) from the furnace. The diminishing fresh air (4) recirculated from the furnace is replaced by also recirculated flue gases (3) in such a way that at the end of the start-up phase only a combustion air mixture consisting of fresh air (2) from the outside and recirculated flue gases (3) is used.

  • Patent number: 5147200
Abstract: In a firing installation, fresh air (6) is drawn in and mixed with a fraction of flue gases (7), which are taken from the combustion chamber (1), by means of a fan (5) which acts outside of the casing of the firing installation. The fresh air/flue gas mixture (8) thus formed flows on its way to the combustion chamber (1) through a first heat exchanger (2a) whose caloric preparation is accomplished by the flue gases (7) fed in. In the combustion chamber (1) itself, this mixture flows through a heat exchanger (2) placed there. Before the mixture (9) thus preheated is fed as combustion air to a burner (4), it undergoes a further mixing with flue gases via a number of jet injectors (3), which further increases the temperature of this combustion air (10), with an optimized flue gas fraction.

  • Patent number: 5063971
Abstract: The clutch element for coupling and uncoupling the coupling elements of the shaft coupling arrangement is rotatably mounted on one coupling element and is rotated by an actuating tool external to the clutch element. The tool includes a drive shaft, crank webs which extend transversely of the drive shaft and a pair of rollers which are disposed externally of the coupling elements. The clutch element includes a pair of wedges sandwiched between two circular segment plates and pivotally mounted on a projection of a push rod. • Patent number: 5050644
Abstract: The actuating tool for coupling and uncoupling the coupling elements of the shaft coupling arrangement is rotatably mounted in the loom frame externally of the coupling elements. The tool includes a drive shaft, crank webs which extend transversely of the drive shaft and a pair of rollers which are disposed externally of the coupling elements. Upon pivoting of the tool, the rollers effect coupling or uncoupling of the coupling elements. The tool may be operated automatically and may be constructed so as to guide the individual push rods of the shaft drive when loom shafts are not present.

  • Patent number: 5044935
Abstract: In a firing plant which is operated with fossil fuels, the exhaust gases (A) from the combustion space (22) are cooled in a heat exchanger (X). A part of these cooled exhaust gases (A') are mixed with fresh air (L) and are conducted by means of a fan (D) in the direction of the burner (Z). This exhaust gas/fresh air mixture forms the combustion air (15) for the burner (Z). Before the introduction of this combustion air (15) into the burner (Z), it is again heated in the heat exchanger (X'). The combustion air (15) preheated in this way ensures complete evaporation of a liquid fuel (12) and acts against the high flame temperature peaks in the combustion space (22) immediately after the burner (Z), which are responsible for the formation of NO.sub.x. The burner (Z) can be operated with liquid and/or gaseous fuel.

  • Patent number: 4770213
Abstract: The coupling device has a sleeve formed with a cavity to receive a coupling member of the heald frame. A pair of projections are provided within the sleeve for engaging in mating recesses of the coupling member and widenings are provided in the sleeve to permit pivoting of the sleeve and member relative to each other. When in a coupled state, the projections are engaged within the recesses. When in an uncoupled position, the member is free to be lifted vertically out of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4524817
Abstract: The present invention relates to a centrifugal casting unit, in which a casting mold has a central distributing pan into which melts, produced inductively, are introduced. The casting unit includes workpiece-molds for precision castings, arranged on the periphery of the distributing pan. The casting unit rotates on a rotating plate in a vessel which can be evacuated. The operations which are required for a working cycle, i.e., the opening and closing of the evacuable vessel, the control of the melting and casting operations etc., are accomplished mechanically, hydraulically, and under electrical control in a fully automatic manner.
