    Abstract: The present invention discloses a dual-vortical-flow hybrid rocket engine, including a main body and a nozzle communicating with an end of the main body. The main body includes a plurality of disk-like combustion chambers arranged longitudinally, and a central combustion chamber formed along the axial portion and communicating the disk-like combustion chambers. Each of the disk-like combustion chambers is provided with a plurality of oxidizer injection nozzles at its inner circumference surface. Inside the disk-like combustion chambers, the oxidizer is injected in nearly the tangent directions of the circumference, and the injection directions are opposite for the neighboring disk-like combustion chambers, which creates vortical flows with opposite rotating directions so as to increase the total residence time of the combustion reactions of the oxidizer and the solid-state fuel in the disk-like combustion chambers of the present invention.

The method comprises receiving an IC design along with a reference PPA (power, performance, area) metric at a reference design point, and a target PPA metric. The method also comprises estimating trial PPA metrics for the IC design at multiple design points, wherein estimating trial PPA metric at each design point includes accessing a PPA database containing PPA metrics for multiple test components, determining scale factors from the reference design point to the trial design point for test components equivalent to components of the IC design, and applying the scale factors to the reference PPA metric to determine the trial PPA metric for the trial design point. The method further comprises recommending a trial design point based on the estimated trial PPA metric and the received target PPA metric.

    Abstract: A network comprises agents which act as proxies on behalf of devices, such as wireless game devices, phones and personal digital assistants. Each agent collects information concerning a “presence status” of a device. An agent determines whether to forward messages on to a device depending on the collected presence status (e.g., active/inactive) of the device. For example, if the presence status indicates the device is active then messages will be forwarded. If, however, the status indicates the device is inactive the message will not be forwarded. Instead, the agent may act as a proxy for the device while it is inactive. By only forwarding messages when a device is active, valuable airlink time and/or bandwidth can be conserved.

    Abstract: In one aspect of the invention, an acoustic device has a first coupled resonator filter (CRF) and a second CRF electrically coupled to one another in series. Each CRF has an input port, an output port, a bottom film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR), an acoustic decoupler formed on the bottom FBAR, and a top FBAR formed on the acoustic decoupler. Each FBAR has a bottom electrode, a piezoelectric layer formed on the bottom electrode, and a top electrode formed on the piezoelectric layer. The decoupling layer capacitance arising between the two electrodes enclosing the acoustic decoupler in a CRF is configured to achieve targeted filter response. A compensating capacitance is introduced to improve the amplitude and phase imbalance performance of an unbalanced to balanced CRF by eliminating the existence of asymmetric port-to-ground or feedback capacitance at the balanced output port produced by the decoupling layer capacitance.
