Abstract: A cleaning disc cartridge capable of concurrently cleaning both a magnetic head of a magneto-optical disc apparatus and an optical lens thereof without causing any error in reading of a signal. A rotating disc is provided on one surface thereof opposite to a magnetic head of the apparatus with a head cleaning member and on the other surface thereof opposite to an objective lens of the apparatus with lens cleaning members. The rotating disc includes a disc body which is provided with an inventory region defined on an inner peripheral side of a lens cleaning member arrangement region, a reproduction-only region defined on an outer peripheral side of the lens cleaning member arrangement region, and an information recording and reproducing region outside the reproduction-only region.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette capable of improving sealing of the tape cassette when it is out of use, to thereby positively protect a magnetic tape arranged therein. The magnetic tape cassette includes an openable front lid and a rear lid arranged so as to cover a front opening of the tape cassette casing and is so constructed that the front and rear lids are provided with facing portions, respectively, which are arranged so as to face each other along an arc defined by the facing portion of the rear lid when the rear lid is pivotally moved relatively to the front lid to cover the protecting space for the magnetic tape and each lid is formed into an arc or slanting plane, resulting in the lids being closely associated with each other to a degree sufficient to ensure satisfactory sealing of the cassette when the front lid is pivotally moved to cover the opening of the casing.

Abstract: A tape cassette having a synthetic resin casing accommodating a tape-like medium composed of an upper half casing, a lower half casing and a front lid, the upper and lower half casings being integrated by a plurality of fixing portions. A plurality of fixing portions are disposed at first positions which are outside of a second position of the front lid. Slackening of screw fixation of the upper and lower half casings is preventing and incapacitance in rotating the front lid due to melt-bonding of the front lid and the upper half casing is avoided.

Abstract: A tape cassette comprising a cassette casing composed of an upper half casing and a lower half casing, a pair of hubs around which a magnetic tape is wound and which are rotatably fitted into circular peripheral walls formed in the cassette casing, and tape guide members formed in the cassette casing at positions through which the magnetic tape wound around the hubs is traveled, wherein the thickness of the flat surface walls and the thickness of the outer peripheral walls of the upper and lower half casings are respectively uniform.

Abstract: A disc cartridge capable of permitting a hub to be constantly rotated about the center of rotation thereof without any eccentricity, to thereby ensure smooth and stable rotation of the disc. The hub is formed with three drive shaft inserting holes in a manner to be spaced from each other at equal intervals and positioned on a concentric circle of a predetermined radius defined about a center of rotation of the hub. The drive shaft inserting holes each are formed with a linear driven surface which is adapted to be contacted with a drive shaft inserted into the hole. The driven surface may be arranged at an angle of -30 to +30 degrees with respect to the center of rotation of the hub.

Abstract: A cartridge for a recording/reproducing medium has a shutter for opening and closing a window opening formed in a casing in which a projection or a gate formed at an outer edge of the shutter is provided not to project from the outer edge. The post-treatment of the gate can be easy to improve productivity, the stroke range of the shutter can be precisely determined; the mounting and dismounting of the shutter on a recording/reproducing device as well as the sliding movement of the shutter is smooth. Further, the quality of the cartridge is improved.

Abstract: An elastic lifter arranged on an inner surface of a casing of a disc cartridge to exert a pressing force on a disc is formed integrally with the casing and into a plate-like shape in such a manner that a proximal end thereof is connected to the casing and a distal end thereof is rendered free. Such construction permits the pressing force to be kept constant for a long period of time and effectively prevents damage to the disc, to thereby substantially improve durability and reliability of the disc cartridge while significantly decreasing the number of parts, facilitating assembling of the disc cartridge, and attains a decrease in manufacturing cost. The lifter may be formed at a proximal end thereof with a decreased thickness, to thereby facilitate bending of the lifter.

Abstract: A tape cassette capable of permitting a reel spring to be readily and accurately positioned on a casing for its mounting to highly improve workability and productivity in manufacturing of the tape cassette. The tape cassette includes a reel spring which is abutted against tape reels for elastically holding them. The reel spring comprises a spring body formed at an intermediate portion thereof in a longitudinal direction thereof with a plurality of mounting holes through which the reel spring is mounted on an inner surface of an upper casing member. The spring body is provided on each of both sides thereof in the longitudinal direction with one or two positioning recesses, each of which is positioned adjacent to each of the mounting holes.

Abstract: A tape take-up hub which comprises a circular ring having an outer wall surface on which a length of magnetic tape is taken up and an inner wall surface defining an opening with which the ring can fit onto a driving shaft and formed with three key ways adapted to mesh with keys formed on the driving shaft, said ring having a thickness substantially equal to the width of the magnetic tape, the improvement which further includes, as additionally formed on either side of the circular ring, three protrusions of the same height and three recesses of a depth greater than the height of the protrusions and adapted to receive the corresponding protrusions of an adjacent hub of an identical structure. The protrusions and recesses are equally spaced apart along one and the same circle and are aligned in position to those formed on the reverse side of the same circular ring.

A turning shutter is provided rotatably about a center separate from a center of the rotary shutter to open and close the driving shaft insertion hole. The disk holder is provided with surfaces for positioning the rotary shutter and the turning shutter. Both of the shutters are held and guided by the disk holder to open and close the driving shaft insertion hole and the pickup insertion holes during charging or removing the disk cartridge into or from a disk player.

A first slidable member is cooperatively coupled to the rotary shutter, and a second slidable member is opposed to the first slidable member and adapted to be slid upon engagement with a shutter actuating member when a disk drive is loaded with the disk cartridge. The first and second slidable members having racks on their opposed surfaces interlocked through a gear mechanism for transmitting the motion of the second slidable member to the first slidable member, which in turn, drives the rotary shutter.

Abstract: A tape cassette housing capable of ensuring safety of a tape cassette in non-use of the tape cassette or during storage and transportation of the tape cassette. The tape cassette housing includes a housing body, a cover, a hinge for relatively openably connecting the housing body and cover to each other, and one or two pairs of projections provided on an inner surface of one of the housing body or cover. The projections are arranged in a manner to positionally correspond to pressing members of a tape cassette for holding reels of the tape cassette through the pressing members when the tape cassette housing is closed while receiving the tape cassette therein, to securely hold the pressing members, resulting in rendering the reels immovable in the tape cassette without any clattering. The housing may be provided with a locking mechanism for locking the housing body and cover together when the tape cassette housing is closed, to thereby further enhance safety of the tape cassette.
