  • Publication number: 20190213220
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to linking documents using citations. A server accesses a stored document in a data repository. The server determines a set of candidate citing documents that cite the stored document. The server obtains, for each candidate citing document from the set, first information representing an impact of the candidate citing document taken as a whole and second information representing a citation context within the candidate citing document. The server determines a subset of citing documents, from the set of candidate citing documents, based on the obtained first information and the obtained second information. The server provides a digital transmission of the stored document, including visible indicia of the subset of citing documents, for display at a client device.

  • Publication number: 20190197103
Abstract: Various embodiments are described herein that relate to communication systems that employ Natural Language Processing (NLP). More specifically, various embodiments relate to systems, methods, and interfaces for performing asynchronous speech act detection on text-based messages transmitted between used of a communication platform. Asynchronous speech act detection allows the content of the messages to be analyzed without interrupting the flow of communication. That is, the messages can be posted for viewing (e.g., to a chat room) and simultaneously transmitted to an NLP server for further analysis. The posted messages can subsequently be updated (e.g., by adding labels that are used for storing, searching, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20190129589
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments providing a personalized interaction and navigation system. An embodiment operates by receiving, during a computing session, an indication of a first interaction with a currently accessed document stored in a computing system. It is determined that the first document is not included in the set of previously accessed documents. A new tab is added to the interface corresponding to the currently accessed document based upon the determining. The new tab is maintained on the interface for the duration of the computing session, wherein upon completion of the computing session, a determination is made whether to persist the tab beyond the computing session based on a request or to automatically remove the tab from the interface and the cache.

  • Publication number: 20190108179
Abstract: Described herein are computer-implemented systems and methods for automatically disambiguating author names for a plurality of publications so as to create clusters of author name mentions that are with high probability associated with a single author identity for each cluster. Also described are systems and methods for assigning the clusters to respective unique author identities, automatically and/or based on human input (e.g., as received from authors, co-authors, or administrative curators).

  • Patent number: 10198484
Abstract: Disclosed are examples of systems, apparatus, methods and computer program products for displaying reduced and detailed visual representations of calendar items based on mouse cursor movement. A database storing data objects identifying calendar items can be maintained. Each calendar item can comprise a subject, a date, and a time range. A reduced visual representation of a first calendar item can be displayed in a first region of a user interface on a display of a device. The reduced visual representation of the first calendar item can comprise an at least partially obscured presentation of the subject, the date, and/or the time range of the first calendar item. Mouse cursor movement in the first region of the user interface can be detected. A detailed visual representation of the first calendar item can be displayed in the first region of the user interface in response to detecting the mouse cursor movement.

  • Patent number: 10193952
Abstract: Various embodiments concern communication platforms that can integrate electronic resources distributed amongst various sources by tagging metadata associated with each of the electronic resources, thereby making the electronic resources readily searchable from a messaging interface using a single search architecture. The messaging interface can be used by users to communicate with one another. In some embodiments, the communication platform performs a search based on characters as they are entered into the text field of the messaging interface. This search across various heterogeneous sources enables the communication platform to identify a reference to an electronic resource the sender of a message wishes to insert within the message. Recipients of the message may be able to access the electronic resource directly from the messaging interface.
