  • Publication number: 20230082010
Abstract: In an approach for automatic vertical partitioning of fact tables in a distributed query engine a processor analyzes a sample end-user workload of queries to extract filter predicates associated with each of multiple fact tables relating to a big data store. A processor, for each fact table, and for each column in the fact table to which a filter predicate is applied and where coarsification is required, generates a candidate partitioning expression incorporating an adjustment to a coarsification function based on a data distribution of values in the column. A processor scores the candidate partitioning expressions for each fact table based on cost data relating to the sample end-user workload and selects one or more candidate partitioning expressions to optimize partitioning of each fact table with each partition data being placed in a separate directory in a distributed file system.

  • Publication number: 20230061247
Abstract: This disclosure relates to method and system for improving Wi-Fi performance in co-existing communication networks using learning methodologies. In recent times, most of telecom operators have expressed interest in deploying LTE (Long-Term Evolution) over the unlicensed spectrum. However, simultaneous use of unlicensed band (by operators using LTE and other Wi-Fi) presents coexistence challenges in terms of network performance especially for the Wi-Fi. The disclosed techniques enable improving the Wi-Fi performance in the co-existing communication networks based on learning methodologies. The disclosed techniques improve Wi-Fi performance based on several steps that includes detecting an interfering channel, and further identifying an optimal channel to mitigate the interference caused by the detected interfering channel. The optimal channel is identified based on an optimization technique, wherein the optimization technique is a reinforcement learning technique based on a Q-learning.

  • Patent number: 11595502
Abstract: Certain tasks related to processing layer 7 (L7) data streams, such as HTTP data streams, can be performed by an L7 assist circuit instead of by general-purpose CPUs. The L7 assist circuit can normalize URLs, Huffman decode, Huffman encode, and generate hashes of normalized URLs. A L7 data stream, which is reassembled from received network packets, includes an L7 header. L7 assist produces an augmented L7 header that is added to the L7 data stream. The CPUs can use the augmented L7 header, thereby speeding up processing. On the outbound path, L7 assist can remove the augmented L7 header and perform Huffman encoding such that the CPUs can perform other tasks.

  • Publication number: 20230060063
Abstract: A modulator for a flying-capacitor type multilevel converter receives, at an input, a time-variant reference signal and provides, at an output, a sequence of target levels, to provide switching signals for switching between discrete output levels of the multilevel converter according to the shape of the reference signal. The modulator determines a critical level as an intermediate output level of the multilevel converter which is closest to the level of the reference signal; and outputs only target levels corresponding to output levels different from the critical level.

  • Patent number: 11588904
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems and methods for management of contextual notifications on user devices. Entities can be categorized as VIP status based on scoring profiles sent from a management server to the user device. Applications on the user device can implement an SDK that reads the profiles and sets certain actions to boost scores and others to reduce scores. These local VIP scores can be sent periodically from the user device to the management server. The management server can use them in conjunction with global VIP scores for the same entities to create aggregated VIP information. This can be sent back to the user device, allowing the user device to then visualize different notifications or workflows based on whether an entity's aggregated VIP information exceeds one or more thresholds.

  • Publication number: 20230047938
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a subcarrier spacing (SCS) for communications in a transmission time interval (TTI), such as a half-subframe, including multiple symbols, corresponding cyclic prefixes, and a padding duration which is at least as long as a symbol duration. The UE may receive a configuration for the padding duration, indicating that at least a portion of the padding duration is reallocated for a reference signal that indicates waveform parameters for one or more symbols of the TTI after the padding duration. The UE may receive the reference signal indicating the waveform parameters during the portion of the padding duration and communicate during the one or more symbols of the TTI according to the waveform parameters.
