  • Patent number: 11337105
Abstract: A first user equipment (UE) device receives a configuration for a first timer from a base station that is serving the UE device. The first UE device also receives a recommended bitrate from the base station. The recommended bitrate is to be used for a Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) call or a Video over Long-Term Evolution (ViLTE) call between the first UE device and a second UE device. The first UE device activates the first timer in accordance with the configuration. The first UE device is prohibited from transmitting a bitrate query to the base station while the first timer is running. Upon receiving a recommended bitrate that is below a Guaranteed Bit Rate for the call between the first UE device and the second UE device, the first UE device stops the first timer and transmits a bitrate query to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11337191
Abstract: A serving base station allocates communication resources to be used by an aerial vehicle user equipment device (AV-UE) for uplink data transmissions. A neighboring base station is informed, via an air interface, of the communication resources that were allocated to the AV-UE. In some examples, the AV-UE retransmits scheduling assignment information, received from the serving base station, to the neighboring base station. In still other examples, the AV-UE transmits a sounding reference signal (SRS) to the neighboring base station. The neighboring base station can decode the retransmitted scheduling assignment information and/or the SRS to obtain information regarding the communication resources that have been allocated to the AV-UE for uplink data transmissions. The neighboring base station mitigates interference from the uplink data transmissions sent by the AV-UE.

  • Publication number: 20220141834
Abstract: The methods, devices, and systems discussed herein describe four different mechanisms (e.g., solutions) to assist a leader of a group of wireless communication devices in deciding when to switch between groupcast and unicast transmissions. In the first solution, the group leader may decide to initiate groupcast or unicast without considering the design of the Access Stratum (AS) layer link management. In the second solution, the group leader can determine whether to initiate unicast transmission based, at least partially, on feedback messages received from one or more other members of the group. In the third solution, the group leader has the option to simultaneously transmit groupcast and unicast transmissions towards the same user equipment devices (UEs). In the fourth solution, the group leader indicates to the groupcast-receiving UEs that the transmission is about to be switched from groupcast to unicast.
