Publication number: 20220350736Abstract: Described herein is a system and method for an append-only block-oriented object storage system. An unstructured storage object is stored in cloud storage. A block is data is received, from a client, to append to the unstructured storage object. A universally unique identifier of the client, and client contextual information regarding the block of data, are received from the client. The client contextual information comprises an identifier of a most recently appended block from the client. When the identifier of the most recently appended block from the client matches a stored identifier associated with the universally unique identifier of the client, the block of data is appended to the unstructured storage object, and the stored identifier associated with the universally unique identifier of the client is updated in accordance with the received client contextual information.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2022Publication date: November 3, 2022Inventors: Sandesh Ashok DODDAMETI, Himanshu GUPTA, Jegan DEVARAJU, Maneesh SAH

Publication number: 20220353080Abstract: This invention provides Colosseum, a Byzantine fault tolerant scalable method to achieve consensus, designed to maintain distributed ledgers over a permissioned peer-to-peer blockchain network that follows a curative approach towards achieving consensus. It assumes that adversaries are not always present in the system but efficiently detects malicious behaviour and alert the network. Colosseum follows a knockout tournament like approach over a structured ring network to have agreement on the next set of block proposers. Colosseum proposes a novel two-player game like approach which uses Proof-of-Win to eliminate nodes in each round of a tournament resulting in the selection of a subset of nodes after ? (?<log 2 N, where N is the number of nodes in the network) number of rounds. It allows multiple block proposers for a tournament and tries to commit a maximum of their blocks using Converging Directed Acyclic Graph (CDAG) as the ledger to increase the throughput of the transactions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2020Publication date: November 3, 2022Inventors: Dharanipragada JANAKIRAM, hIMANSHU gupta

Publication number: 20220043807Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for efficiently storing information identifying journey instances within unstructured event data of a data intake and processing system. Each journey instance is illustratively associated with a series of events within the unstructured event data occurring over a journey duration. Because the unstructured event data may be constantly updated, any given inspection of the event data may yield both complete and incomplete instances. Storage of instance data over time can require updating of prior incomplete journey instances with complete versions of such instance detected at a later point in time. However, a data store of the unstructured event data may be unsuited for such updating, as the store may maintain version information for deleted data to reduce possibility of data loss. To address this issue, a separate structured data store, such as a columnar time series data store, is provided to efficiently store instance information.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2021Publication date: February 10, 2022Inventors: Akash Dwivedi, Himanshu Gupta, Eric Tschetter
