  • Patent number: 5309968
Abstract: A tire chain has an inside annular body, and a contractile connector including an elastic body connected and fixed to the inside annular body, a first connecting member and a second connecting member which are movable along the elastic body and are connectable, and a connecting and fixing tool which maintains a connected state of the connecting members. The first and the second connecting members are also connected to ends of the inside annular body. As the connecting members are moved along the elastic body, the effective length of the inside annular body changes due to the elastic body and thus, both ends of the inside annular body can be connected easily.

  • Patent number: 5066347
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tape transport apparatus and a tape introduction method for forming a magnetic tape into an endless loop by splicing a leader tape to the magnetic tape and running such endless-loop magnetic tape therein. When an endless loop is shaped by splicing the magnetic tape and the leader tape to each other, the starting (front) end of the magnetic tape is drawn out to a splicing position while the front (fore) end of the leader tape is also brought thereto and, after the respective ends are spliced together, the endless loop is moved until the spliced portion between the magnetic tape and the leader tape is shifted to the splicing position for the leader tape. The starting front end of the magnetic tape led by such leader tape is then spliced to the terminal rear end of the magnetic tape, so that an endless loop is formed automatically without the necessity of the performance of operation by hand upon the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 4209683
Abstract: An induction heating apparatus of the invention is provided with a pair of inversely parallel connected thyristors which receives power from a low frequency energy source. Depending on the polarity of the source voltage, one of the thyristors is triggered into conduction by a control pulse generated in delayed response to a sensed forward bias potential at its anode for the purpose of supplying a forward current to a commutating circuit which is tuned to a high frequency in the ultrasonic range, whereupon a backward current is generated. The backward current is commutated through the other thyristor to complete a high frequency oscillation. A detector is provided to detect when the magnitude of the backward commutating current reaches a predetermined value for the purpose of terminating the trigger control pulse.
