  • Patent number: 5726451
Abstract: A scan type fire detecting apparatus is provided with a scanning unit which stepwise scans a monitoring area in a horizontal direction and vertically scans at each step of the horizontal scan to output a detecting signal obtained during the vertical and horizontal scan while a fire judging section judges an occurrence of a fire based on the detecting signal from the scanning unit. The fire judging section includes a first fire judging section which judges as to whether or not the detecting signal outputted from the scanning unit during the vertical and horizontal scanning is higher than a predetermined threshold value, and stops the horizontal scan of the scanning unit when the detecting signal is higher than the predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 5710467
Abstract: Cooling wind is introduced into an electric-parts-chamber through openings formed at the bottom of a cover, then taken into the intake side of a cooling fan through the air intakes formed in the wall end of a housing from the electric-parts-chamber. The cooling wind is accelerated by the fan to be driven off from the outlets formed in the peripheral wall of the housing. The cylindrical portion of the positive side cooling fins of the rectifier is extended to the space between the outer periphery of the fan and the outlets. The inner diameter of the cylindrical portion is longer than that of the rear coil end. Thus, the coil end and the cylindrical portion of the positive side cooling fin are cooled sufficiently by the cooling wind blowing thereon at high speed, so that the rectifier can endure large thermal load with reduced wind noise even if the size of the alternator is small.

  • Patent number: 5708316
Abstract: In an alternator for a vehicle having field coils for generating rotating magnetic field and stator coils for generating alternating current voltages in response to the rotating magnetic field, each of three stator coils are wound on only one of three stator teeth provided equi-angularly in a two pole-pitch of the rotor so that coil ends of the stator coils exposed outside the stator teeth do not cross each other. Thus, all the coil ends are cooled equally by the cooling air and a temperature rise of the stator coils is minimized. In order to reduce magnetic noise the stator coils are grouped. The first group of coils are provided in contact with a stator core and a second group of coils. The first and second group of coils are shifted from each other by .pi./3 radian in electrical angle.

  • Patent number: 5705865
Abstract: A rotary electric machine that controls fluid pressure and loss of cooling air, increases the cooling air flow rate, and is able to favorably cool the end of a coil with little regard to the positional relationship between the centrifugal blades and the end of the stator coil, is disclosed. A cooling fan of such a rotary electric machine includes centrifugal blades having deflecting blades disposed therebetween, which are mounted so as to incline towards an inside of the axial direction. The centrifugal blades and the deflecting blades are integrally formed. For this reason, the cooling air accelerates at areas between the individual blades in the centrifugal direction and is separated into two flows, one in the direction of inside portions and one in the direction of outside portions of the end of a stator coil. The end of the stator coil is cooled favorably.

  • Patent number: 5678488
Abstract: A printing method of playing out piled sheets of paper one by one, feeding the played-out sheet of paper to the position of a platen, and printing the sheet of paper, the printing method includes the steps of: (a) feeding the sheet of paper played out from the piled position thereof at a first speed until the sheet of paper approaches a platen which is stopping; (b) feeding the sheet of paper at a second speed lower than the first speed until a required short time passes from a time when the sheet of paper is engaged with the stopping platen, for performing a sheet flexing and a sheet skew removing; and (c) driving the platen at the second speed to feed the sheet of paper to a printing position. And the printing apparatus performs the printing method.

  • Patent number: 5651888
Abstract: A pair of filtering membranes are solidly bonded to a membrane-supporting plate by fusibly bonding each of the filtering membranes to the resin membrane-supporting plate. A main fusible domain is formed along peripheral edges of each of the filtering membranes. In addition, a plurality of subordinate fusible domains are intermittently formed in plural locations on one side or on both sides of the main fusible domain. By virtue of the above structure, bonding strength is secured by the main fusible domain, and yet, bonding strength is reinforced by locally provided subordinate fusible domains. A channel is formed in the membrane-supporting plate so that permeated liquid can swiftly flow through the filtering system. In addition, a plurality of projections are formed on peripheral edges of a filtration membrane cartridge facing inner surface of each gutter formed inside of each slit plate by way of causing the respective projections to slidably come into contact with the inner surface of the gutter.

  • Patent number: 5483116
Abstract: The present invention prevents the degradation of the power generating efficiency of an alternating current generator by preventing the expansion of an air gap formed between pole cores and a stator core, achieves low-noise operation by preventing generation of high-frequency impact magnetic noise, and makes it possible to relieve strains applied on a magnet holder. The present invention utilizes sixteen magnets, each of which fits between two of sixteen claw-like magnetic poles formed on the outer periphery of Lundell-type pole cores, which rotates integrally with a shaft. The magnets are caught and stopped by a magnet holder which has been formed by interconnecting zig-zagging segments and has elasticity as a whole. Here, the permanent magnets are held by the magnet holder so that the magnet holder does not protrude towards the rotor side from the outer peripheral face of the Lundell-type pole cores and the contacting faces of the magnet holder contact the outer faces of the permanent magnets.

  • Patent number: 5482625
Abstract: A filtration membrane module submerged with processed liquid in the processing tank. Plural plate-like, rigid membrane cartridges are vertically placed in parallel to each other as properly spaced from the adjoining membrane cartridges. The cleaning stream generating means for supplying a flow parallel to the membrane surfaces of the membrane cartridges opposes the gaps between the membrane cartridges opposite to each other. The sucking means for sucking the permeated liquid in each membrane cartridge is communicated with each passage of permeated liquid in each membrane cartridge. The membrane supporting plate for retaining the filtration membrane of the membrane cartridge is made hollow using a rigid structure member.
