  • Patent number: 7411648
Abstract: An auxiliary plate (10) is fixed to a rear plane of a housing for fixedly holding a lamp unit (6) having a plurality of lamps. In the auxiliary plate (10), a convex portion and a concave portion are combined. The convex portion has a space between the housing and itself, which is formed by protruding a sheet metal, and the concave portion contacts with the housing by denting the sheet metal. In the auxiliary plate 10, an area for mounting a board vulnerable to heat is formed with the convex portion and an air layer performs as heat insulation. The convex and concave portions are arrayed in a direction where heated air easily flows in another area. Thus, rigidity can be remarkably increased compared to a flat-shaped sheet metal, and heat generated by a backlight is effectively dissipated, as well as a temperature rise and an occurrence of a temperature gradient are suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20080079330
Abstract: A rotor for a vehicular alternating current generator has a relief space portion formed between axial holes of a pair of pole cores and a shaft for receiving therein a plastically deformed portion produced when the shaft is press-fitted in the axial holes of the pole cores. The relief space portion is located adjacent to a pair of closely contacting inner end faces of the pole cores so that the plastically deformed portion is let to move into a radially outward direction rather than further continuing movement in an axial direction within the relief space portion. The plastically deformed portion is thus prevented from entering between the inner end faces of the pole cores.

  • Patent number: 7348700
Abstract: An automotive alternator according to the present invention includes a rotary shaft, slip rings, a brush holder, brushes, a cover, a seal member, a cooling air flow path, and a water shield. The slip rings are fixed to an end portion of the rotary shaft. The brushes are accommodated in the brush holder and so held by the brush holder as to establish sliding contacts with the slip rings to excite the automotive alternator. The cover covers the end portion of the rotary shaft, the slip rings, the brush holder, and the brushes. The seal member is interposed between the brush holder and the cover. The cooling air flow path is formed between the seal member and one of the brush holder and the cover to supply cooling air to the brushes. The water shield works to prevent water from entering into an entrance of the cooling air flow path.

  • Patent number: 7190423
Abstract: A liquid crystal monitor incorporating therein a liquid crystal module having a direct backlight is configured to have receiving portions in a reflector 8 of the direct backlight that constitutes a liquid crystal module 13, in order to attach together the liquid crystal module 13 and a liquid crystal monitor member 12. The receiving portions are constituted by reflector extensions 111 that are formed by extending a bottom face of the reflector 8 toward a space between an inclined face of the reflector and an upper frame 2 of the liquid crystal module 13. Then, the liquid crystal monitor member 12 is fixed to the reflector extensions 111 by screws 407. Thus, the use of a space near the inclined face of the reflector allows a liquid crystal monitor to be thinned and reduced in its size and the width of monitor frame.

  • Patent number: 7057315
Abstract: An alternator for use in an automobile includes a stator supported between a front housing and a rear housing, and a rotor connected to a rotor shaft and rotatably supported inside the stator. A cooling fan is positioned at an end of a pole core of the rotor. The cooling fan is coupled to the rotor shaft by engaging edges of a center opening of the cooling fan with a non-circular flange formed on the rotor shaft. The cooling fan is correctly positioned relative to the rotor shaft, without using a jig, both in the radial direction and in the rotational direction of cooling fan. Noises and vibrations due to rotational imbalance of the cooling fan are suppressed.

  • Patent number: 7057678
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device there are provided a liquid crystal panel, a chassis, a side reflector, an optical sheet, a diffuser, and a bottom reflector. In the side reflector are provided plural lamp support bases in a row in a direction parallel to the surface of the liquid crystal panel. The lamp support bases are arranged so as to hold low pressure-side end portions of lamps respectively. A return substrate extending in the arranged direction of the lamps is mounted to the lamp support bases on the side opposed to the liquid crystal panel. Further, lead wires are drawn out toward the return substrate from low pressure-side end portions of the lamps, then are allowed to pass through the lamp support bases and are connected to the return substrate. With this arrangement, it is possible to narrow a picture frame area.
