    Abstract: A resistance spot welding method is disclosed for joining two or more steel sheets including at least one steel sheet having a tensile strength of 980 MPa or higher. The resistance spot welding method involves placing the steel sheets on top of each other to form a set of steel sheets to be welded, clamping the set of steel sheets with a pair of electrodes, and passing a current through the steel sheets while applying pressure thereto to join the steel sheets together. The resistance spot welding method includes an initial welding step of welding by passing a current I1 (kA) satisfying 2×?F1<I1?10×?F1 while applying a welding force F1 (kN) satisfying 0.2×?t1<F1?4×?t1, and a main welding step of forming a nugget having a predetermined nugget diameter. Spatter is produced in the initial welding step.

    Abstract: If reception quality of a broadcast signal of a first frequency received by a tuner satisfies setting conditions, the frequency received by the tuner is changed from the first frequency to a second frequency. It is evaluated whether or not the amount of offset between a reference frequency and the frequency of the signal, which is generated by converting the broadcast signal of the second frequency received by the tuner into an intermediate frequency is within a predetermined range. If the offset between the reference frequency and the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal is within the predetermined range, the data included in the broadcast signal of the first frequency is acquired by a demodulating the broadcast signal of the first frequency. It is evaluated whether or not the broadcast signal of the first frequency is a broadcast signal of a broadcasting station based on the acquired data.

    Abstract: A hard disk drive (HDD) includes an enclosure base, a first cover coupled to the base, and two separate gasket seals composed of different materials and configured to seal the interface between the first cover and the base. One gasket seal is composed of a material having a low permeability to helium or another lighter-than-air gas contained within the HDD, and the other gasket seal is composed of material having a low water vapor or moisture transmission. By using two separate independent gaskets which have different attributes, the lighter-than-air gas concentration is kept high and humidity is kept low during manufacturing testing, prior to affixing a hermetic second cover over the first cover, and degradation of HDD performance due to change of flying height is ultimately avoided.
