  • Publication number: 20040034722
Abstract: A computer system has a central processing unit, an input/output unit and two network units. The central processing unit is connected to the input/output unit via the network units. The central processing unit sends a frame included in data to the input/output unit via the network unit and simultaneously sends the frame to the input/output unit via the network unit. The input/output unit receives the same frames via both the network unit and the network unit. The input/output unit sends either of the same frames which is received faster than the other of the same frames to the internal circuits.

  • Patent number: 5594259
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes an insulating substrate; and an electrode wiring provided on an area of the insulating substrate. The electrode wiring is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of an alloy of Ta and Nb, Nb, and a metal mainly including Nb. A method for producing a semiconductor device includes the steps of forming a layer including Nb doped with nitrogen on an insulating substrate by a sputtering method in an atmosphere of an inert gas including nitrogen, and then patterning the layer to form an electrode wiring on an area of the insulating substrate; and forming an oxide film at a portion of the electrode wiring by anodization, the portion including at least a surface thereof.

  • Patent number: 5162901
Abstract: An active-matrix display device having low-resistance added capacitance electrode wires in which single or plural secondary wires connected electrically to the added capacitance electrode wires reduce the apparent electrical resistance of the added capacitance electrode wires, which makes the time constant of the added capacitance electrode wires smaller, so that the charging characteristics of the added capacitance are improved and contrast and other display characteristics of the liquid crystal display device are improved.

  • Patent number: 4843173
Abstract: Gluconic acid is produced by oxidizing glucose with an oxygen-containing gas in an aqueous alkali solution in the presence of a palladium-bismuth/carbon catalyst which has adsorbed firstly bismuth and secondly palladium. The catalyst has an improved activity, selectivity and durability.

  • Patent number: 4211973
Abstract: Apparatus for detecting possible changes or variations in the dimension of an air gap of a running electric rotary machine during operation thereof. Detector coils are each accommodated within respective slots formed in the stator core of the machine, the coils being geometrically separated from one another at an angular distance corresponding to the distance between poles or its integral multiple. The detector coils are electrically connected in series with each other to produce a voltage for detection. The detector coils are so connected that the fundamental waves of the voltages induced in two detector coils will cancel each other and a synthesized value of higher harmonics induced in both detector coils is picked up as the detection voltage signal. The number of slots of the rotor of the electric rotary machine is predetermined to a limited number in order to get a detection signal of higher quality.

  • Patent number: 4108891
Abstract: Monosaccharides are oxidized by an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a special palladium-carbon catalyst which is prepared by adsorbing palladium on active carbon at a temperature lower than 60.degree. C while the active carbon is suspended in an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate and then reducing the palladium with formaldehyde.
