  • Publication number: 20060263263
Abstract: A fluid feeding system consists of a flow channel member and a fluid feeding apparatus. The flow channel member has at least a flow channel for feeding a fluid to a sensor surface. Pipette catchers are formed at inlet and outlet openings of the flow channel. The fluid feeding apparatus comprises a movable pipette head having a couple of pipettes, a head moving mechanism and pumps for sucking and ejecting the fluid through the pipettes. To inject the fluid into the flow channel, ends of the pipettes are pressed onto the pipette catchers. The pipette catchers are formed from a soft material, so that they are deformed resiliently when the ends of the pipettes are pressed onto the pipette catchers, thereby ensuring water-tightness between the pipettes and the flow channel, without the need for fitting the pipettes in the inlet and outlet openings.

  • Publication number: 20060257290
Abstract: A multiple pipette assembly is used for the purpose of sample immobilization for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay, and dispenses and introduces sample fluid of a sample to a sensing surface of a sensor unit. The sensor unit includes a flow channel having first and second orifices, and the sensing surface, positioned in the flow channel, for detecting the reaction of the sample. First and second pipette devices access the orifices. First and second pumps are connected with respectively the pipette devices, for pressurization to dispense the sample fluid through the pipette devices, or for decompression to aspirate the sample fluid through the pipette devices. The pumps are driven in a manner independent from one another. While the first and second pipette devices move away from the sensor unit, the pumps are caused to decompress a space in the first and second pipette devices and the flow channel.

Abstract: A sensor unit of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay system includes a transparent dielectric medium. A thin film has a first surface and a sensing surface. The first surface is connected with the dielectric medium to constitute an interface. The sensing surface is back to the first surface, for detecting (bio)chemical reaction. A flow cell block has a flow channel for flowing of the sample to the sensing surface. Attenuated total reflection of illuminating light is checked at the interface, to analyze interaction between ligand and analyte as samples. The flow channel includes a first inner surface, disposed opposite to the sensing surface to extend along, for passing the sample to flow between. The first inner surface has a height, defined with reference to the sensing surface, and in a range of 200-500 microns.

  • Publication number: 20060182451
Abstract: A time point at which a predetermined period elapses since the start of use of a copying machine as a detection subject after factory shipment or repair is obtained. Pieces of set information, which are combinations of various types of information until the time point is reached are sequentially stored to construct a normal set information group. After the time point is reached, presence of abnormality in the copying machine is determined based on the normal set information group and the various types of information obtained.

  • Publication number: 20060153742
Abstract: A sensor unit for use in a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay includes a flow channel device, which causes a sample fluid of a sample to flow on a sensing surface lying on a prism. The flow channel device includes a rigid device body part having an opposing surface positioned opposite to the sensing surface. A flow recess is formed in the opposing surface, closed by the prism to constitute a flow channel, for covering the sensing surface. A sealant portion is overlaid on an edge portion of the opposing surface and the flow recess in the device body part. The sealant portion tightens closing between the device body part and the prism. Also, the sealant portion projects over the opposing surface of the device body part in a state before contacting the prism. In addition, the sealant portion is formed from material having a small non-specific adsorption.
