    Abstract: A first communication device allocates respective sub-channels of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) channel to two or more second communication devices for uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission from the two or more second communication devices. A first sub-channel is allocated to a first one of the second communication devices and a second sub-channel is allocated to a second one of the second communication devices. The first communication device provides, to the second communication devices, indications of the respective sub-channels allocated to the second communication devices. The first communication device receives an uplink OFDMA data unit that includes a first OFDM data unit transmitted from the first one of the second communication devices via the first sub-channel, and a second OFDM data unit transmitted from the second one of the second communication devices via the second sub-channel.

    Abstract: A first communication device receives an uplink orthogonal frequency multiple access (OFDMA) transmission. The uplink OFDMA transmission includes respective transmissions from multiple second communication devices, and the respective transmissions from the multiple second communication devices include indications of respective acknowledgment policies corresponding to the respective transmissions from the multiple second communication devices. The first communication device generates one or more acknowledgment physical layer (PHY) data units to acknowledge at least a portion of the uplink OFDMA transmission, where the one or more acknowledgment PHY data units do not comply with at least one of the acknowledgment policies corresponding to the uplink OFDMA transmission. The first communication device transmits the one or more acknowledgment PHY data units to acknowledge the at least the portion of the uplink OFDMA transmission.

    Abstract: A communication device determines that an extension field should be included in physical layer (PHY) data unit to provide a receiver with more processing time to process data included in the PHY data unit, wherein the extension field is not required to be processed by the receiver. The communication device generates i) a PHY preamble of the PHY data unit, and ii) a PHY data portion of the PHY data unit, the PHY data unit conforming to a first communication protocol. Each orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol in the PHY data portion is generated with a first tone spacing, which is a fraction 1/N of a second tone spacing defined by a second communication protocol, wherein N is a positive integer greater than one. The communication device also generates the extension field of the PHY data unit, which is appended to an end of the PHY data portion.

The extended subtype is defined in addition to a plurality of subtypes that are identifiable using a subtype field in the frame according to a control frame format. The first wireless communication network utilizes a first wireless communication protocol developed for use in licensed frequency bands, and the second wireless communication network utilizes a second wireless communication protocol developed for use in the unlicensed frequency band. The indication is transmitted by the communication device to prompt the access point of the second wireless communication network, to determine that i) the communication channel cannot be used by the second wireless communication network, or ii) the second wireless communication network is to temporarily yield the communication channel to the first wireless communication network.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method for establishing multi-user operation with duplex medium access control in a wireless local area network. Specifically, a trigger frame is transmitted to one or more client stations in a wireless local area network. In response to transmitting the trigger frame, one or more uplink data packets are received from the one or more client stations. It is then determined whether the one or more client stations support duplex operation. A downlink data packet configured in a multi-user data format is transmitted to at least one destined client station that supports duplex operation while simultaneously receiving the one or more uplink data packets from the one or more client stations.

In response to receiving the indication that the second communication device permits the duplex transmission, the first communication device determines that the first communication device is permitted to perform the duplex transmission during the TXOP.     Abstract: In a method for determining whether a communication device can transmit via a first communication channel, the communication device receives a packet via a second communication channel and sets a network allocation vector (NAV) timer corresponding to the second communication channel using duration information included in the header of the packet. If the second communication channel overlaps the first communication channel, the communication device is not permitted to transmit via the first communication channel when the NAV timer is not zero. If the second communication channel does not overlap the first communication channel, the communication device is permitted to transmit via the second communication channel even when the NAV timer is not zero.

The multiple-BSSID set includes BSSIDs of a first and second BSS. A management frame that includes a maximum BSSID indicator that indicates a maximum size of the multiple-BSSID set, the reference identifier, and a transmitter address of the management frame is generated for a receiver of the management frame to derive a first AID corresponding to the first BSS and a second AID corresponding to the second BSS based on the maximum BSSID indicator, the reference identifier, and the transmitter address. The management frame is transmitted to at least one second communication device associated with one of the first BSS and the second BSS.
