Abstract: In a method for integrating a thunderbolt (TBT) chip on a motherboard of a computing device, the motherboard includes a PCIe slot, and a platform controller hub (PCH) chip. The computing device includes a PCIe card plugged into the PCIe slot. The PCIe card includes a micro controller unit (MCU), and an EEPROM. The TBT chip, the MCU, and the EEPROM are integrated into the PCIe card. The PCH chip communicates with the TBT chip and the MCU through a system management bus of the motherboard. The method defines a TBT protocol parameter list used in the TBT chip, and sets GPIO parameters to support the TBT chip to perform various TBT protocol functions according to the TBT protocol parameter list. The TBT chip executes a TBT protocol function according to a GPIO signal output from the MCU.

The distance estimation module estimates a distance to a user to accordingly provide a user distance. Abstract: A method for unlocking a touch screen of an electronic device includes the following steps. First, touch signals are generated in response to manual touch operations on the touch screen. Second, a shape is identified according to the touch signals. Third, the touch screen is unlocked if the identified shape is substantially the same as a predefined shape, wherein the predefined shape is a shape of two fingertips simultaneously sliding in a direction from up to down on the touch screen. An electronic device equipped for unlocking a touch screen thereof is also provided.

Abstract: A virtual signal source generating apparatus is provided. The virtual signal source generating apparatus includes at least an audio interface, a control module, a detecting module and a processing module. The control module is used for acquiring an audio signal from a signal source, wherein the audio signal includes a clock information and an audio information. The detecting module is used for detecting whether the audio interface is coupled to the signal source. The processing module is used for transmitting the audio signal. If the detecting module detects that the signal source disappears when the virtual signal source generating apparatus is in the recording mode, the control module transmits a control signal to the processing module so that the processing module transmits a virtual audio signal to a host.

Abstract: In a method of an emergency response service using a cloud server, the cloud server communicates with a terminal device installed in a vehicle through a wireless network. The terminal device sends driving information of the vehicle to the cloud server through the wireless network. The cloud server determines whether the vehicle is involved in an emergency by analyzing the driving information of the vehicle, and obtains a real-time position of the vehicle from the driving information of the vehicle when the emergency happens to the vehicle. The cloud server generates a telephone contact list including a telephone number of a rescue center nearby the vehicle, generates rescue information according to the basic information and the driving information of the vehicle, and sends the rescue information to the rescue center according to the telephone contact list.

Abstract: In a near-field communication (NFC) service method of communication devices using WIFI Direct, each of the communication devices connects to an NFC server through a wireless network. Information of the communication devices is registered to the NFC server, and a service authorization of each of the communication devices is set according to an NFC service rule. A member register list is generated according to the service authorizations of the communication devices. When the communication device has been registered in the member register list, the communication devices are grouped into the communication group according to the service authorizations of the communication devices, so as to accomplish device authorization of the communication devices in the NFC server. A WIFI Direct connection is then established between any two of the communication devices in the communication group to perform a WIFI service for each of the communication devices.

Abstract: A broadcast apparatus is provided. The broadcast apparatus is signally connected to an input apparatus, which generates a plurality of corresponding control signals according to a plurality of operations. A broadcast method is also provided. The broadcast method includes: receiving one of the control signals; determining identification information and a set of broadcast parameters when the one of the control signals matches a tag; and broadcasting according to the set of broadcast parameters.

Abstract: A touch control system includes a touch sensing panel, a display device, a switch element and a controller. When the switch element is in a first state, the controller generates position information corresponding to a touch point when the touch sensing panel is touched, and provides the touch position information to a user. Once the switch element is switched from the first state to a second state, the controller performs a target procedure corresponding to a last touch point on the touch sensing panel. The controller does not perform the target procedure when the switch element is in the first state.

Abstract: In a method for providing cloud computing services using an electronic device, the electronic device connects to a cloud server through a network, and the cloud server connects to a cloud storage system. The electronic device includes a slave operating system (OS), a streamer agent, and a touch screen. The cloud server assigns an IP address and a security code to the electronic device using a hypervisor of the cloud server. The slave OS receives an account and a password inputted from a user operation interface, and verifies whether the account and password are valid according to the security code. The electronic device uploads data to the cloud server by the streamer agent, downloads data from the cloud storage system by the streamer agent, and displays the downloaded data on the touch screen and each display device that is wirelessly connected to the electronic device.

Abstract: A method defines gesture types of touch events on a touch screen of a computing device, and sets associations between the gesture types and touch areas of the touch events and operation instructions stored within a storage device. The computing device displays a window of a desktop application on the touch screen. When a touch event is detected by the touch screen, the method records information in relation to the touch event, determines a touch area and a gesture type of the touch event by analyzing the information, determines an operation instruction corresponding to the touch event according to the touch area, the gesture type, and the preset associations, and executes the operation instruction to perform operations on the window of the desktop application.

Abstract: A symbol input device, applied to a touch screen that generates a detection result according to touch points, includes a receiving unit, a storage unit and a control unit. The receiving unit receives the detection result, the storage unit stores a look-up table, and the control unit determines a symbol from the look-up table according to the number of the touch points on the touch screen indicated in the detection result.

Abstract: A video/audio playback method is provided which can provide simultaneous, multi-language support for consumers of television and multimedia. The method includes steps of: receiving a first playback data and a second playback data; converting first character information in the first playback data into a first audio signal; and simultaneously playing the first audio signal, and a second audio signal corresponding to the second playback data. The first audio signal and the second audio signal respectively correspond to a first playback language and a second playback language.

Abstract: An exemplary multi-monitor method includes controlling a first position determining unit and a second position determining unit of a corresponding monitor to emit signals. Then, the method determines which of the first position determining unit and the second position determining unit of the corresponding monitor has received the signal. The method next determines the position of the corresponding monitor among all of the monitors, and determines a new coordinate range of the corresponding monitor in the Cartesian coordinate system. Then the method determines which point has been touched in response to a user touch on the touch unit, and determines the new set of coordinates in the Cartesian coordinate system corresponding to the touched point. Next, the method determines one or more touched monitors, and controls the determined one or more touched monitors to execute the corresponding operation.
