  • Patent number: 11606117
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a UE determines a frequency hopping pattern for transmission of a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble based on an associated PRACH coverage enhancement (CE) level, and transmits the PRACH preamble in accordance with the frequency hopping pattern and the associated PRACH CE level. A base station receives the PRACH preamble, and transmits a response (e.g., Msg2 or MsgA) to the PRACH preamble.

  • Patent number: 11606819
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, Generally, a base station may send to a user equipment (UE) a configuration message, which may include an indication of one or more CSI-RS resources and one or more random access occasion indices. The UE may identify one or more random access occasions associated with the UE based on the CSI-RS resources, the random access occasion indices for the UE, and a random access occasion index reset time. The random access occasion index rest time may be based on a fixed time period. The random access occasion index reset time may be based on a number of CSI-RS resources. In some examples, the random access occasion index reset time may be based on a number of actually transmitted synchronization signal blocks (SSBs).

  • Publication number: 20230072214
Abstract: User Equipment (UE) receives, from a base station (BS), at least one resource block (RB). The RB includes at least one reference signal (RS) resource element (RE) of a first physical channel of the UE. The UE estimates a channel quality of a second physical channel of the UE as a function of the at least one RS RE. In some examples, the BS associates the transmission of a first physical channel reference signal (RS) and the transmission of a second physical channel RS. The BS then signals, BS to the UE, the association between the first physical channel reference signal and the second physical channel reference signal.

  • Publication number: 20230069865
Abstract: Wireless positioning accuracy of a user equipment (UE) is impacted by locations of the transmit/receive points (TRPs) and UE for wireless positioning. To improve the accuracy of estimated locations, a geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) may be determined for different groups of candidate TRPs, with the GDOP indicating a potential positioning error associated with the group of candidate TRPs. A UE may determine GDOPs for different combinations of candidate TRPs. One or more devices of a wireless network (e.g., a location server and/or a UE for positioning) may select or exclude one or more candidate TRPs from being used for wireless positioning of a UE based on the determined GDOPs. Exclusion or selection of candidate TRPs for wireless positioning may also be based on quality measurements of PRSs (such as an RSRP or SNR) or a time duration associated with measuring the PRSs from the candidate TRPs to be selected.

  • Publication number: 20230077219
Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a first device to secure transmission of polar encoded control information by encoding at least a portion of frozen bits and/or information bits with a shared key with a second device before these bits are encoded by a polar encoder. The first device determines whether to encode at least one of a plurality of frozen bits or a plurality of information bits using the shared key. Based on the determination, the first device encodes the frozen bits and/or the information bits, and sends the encoded frozen bits and/or the encoded information bits to the second device. Since the receiving device has the shared key, the receiving device may successfully decode the control information, while an eavesdropper who receives the encoded bits may fail to decode the control information due to lack of knowledge of the shared key.

  • Patent number: 11601930
Abstract: Aspects are provided allowing a UE to perform early termination of repetitions of an ongoing PUSCH transmission in response to a DCI from a base station indicating whether a prior PUSCH transmission or repetition was successfully decoded. The UE obtains information configuring an uplink data transmission and a repetition of the uplink data transmission. The UE sends the uplink data transmission to a base station. The UE terminates the repetition of the uplink data transmission in response to reception of downlink information in a downlink control channel. Thus, UE power reduction and enhanced resource efficiency may be achieved. Moreover, the repetition is terminated after a time gap following a CORESET where the downlink control channel is received. As a result, a start time for terminating PUSCH repetitions may be configured to accommodate various timing considerations such as dynamic TDD, different numerologies between PDCCH and PUSCH, and multiple PUSCH processing capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20230064736
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that relate to a two-step random access procedure. Generally, the described techniques allow different configurations for a first message of a random access procedure depending on a connected-state of the user equipment (UE) performing the random access procedure. A base station may transmit configuration information to the UE and the UE may use the configuration information to determine resources, coding, block size, or other factors for transmitting the first message based on the radio resource control (RRC) connected state of the UE. The UE may then monitor for a random access response from the base station based on the first message from the UE.

The UE may generate CSI feedback based on the mapping. In some cases, the UE may generate the CSI feedback based on multiple hypotheses that correspond to CSI-RS measurements. In some examples, the multiple hypotheses may include a set of hypothesis groups based on one or more antenna panels or antenna subpanels of the base station. The UE may transmit a message reporting the CSI feedback to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20230066679
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a base station may send signaling to multiple user equipments (UEs) indicating for the UEs to switch to a radio frequency bandwidth. The UEs may operate according to a reduced set of communication operations in accordance with the radio frequency bandwidth. For example, the UEs may refrain from monitoring one or more channels, may not transmit on one or more channels, or the like. The UEs may switch out of the radio frequency bandwidth based on a trigger event, such as a timer expiring, receiving an indication in a downlink control information (DCI) message, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20230057052
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described, including techniques for utilizing implicit or explicit signaling to indicate a cancellation of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling. A first user equipment (UE) may perform DMRS bundling across physical sidelink channels transmitted to a second UE to enable the second UE to perform joint channel estimation. In some examples, the detected change may be a resource allocation change, a physical channel configuration change, a change in a quasi-colocation (QCL) relationship at the first UE, or a change in a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state at the first UE. Additionally or alternatively, the first UE or the second UE may request the cancellation based on detected changes.
