  • Publication number: 20230224894
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a control message from a base station indicating a configuration of an uplink waveform for full-duplex communications at the UE. The UE may receive an additional control message scheduling a set of uplink resources and a set of downlink resources for the full-duplex communications. The set of uplink resources and the set of downlink resources may at least partially overlap in a time-domain. A frequency-domain gap between the set of uplink resources and the set of downlink resources may be based on the first uplink waveform and a first downlink waveform used by the base station. The UE may communicate with the base station on the set of uplink resources and the set of downlink resources in accordance with the frequency-domain gap.

  • Patent number: 11700606
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling from a base station including a configuration for multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) including uplink symbols, downlink symbols, flexible symbols, or a combination. The UE may receive a grant scheduling one or more repetitions of an uplink shared channel carrying an uplink random access message from the base station. The UE may determine available TTIs for the repetitions based on a pre-TTI evaluation of symbols according to a rule that defines types of symbols available for the uplink shared channel. The UE may transmit the repetitions on the available TTIs according to the rule.

  • Publication number: 20230217396
Abstract: In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) determines a transmission gap adjustment (TGA) for a first message (msgA) of a 2 step random access channel (RACH) procedure based on measurement of a reference signal transmitted by a base station as well as the radio resource configuration (RRC) configurations for msgA. In other aspects, a base station transmits a system information block (SIB) or RRC signaling that indicates at least one possible configuration of the TGA, and UEs determine the TGA depending on RRC state. Connected mode UEs having a timing alignment (TA) timer running may determine the TGA based on a previous TA. UEs in other RRC modes determine the TGA based on the possible configuration transmitted in the SIB or RRC signaling. Advantageously, 2 step RACH UEs are able to communicate with the base station without the closed loop TA information provided by a 4 step RACH.

  • Patent number: 11696283
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for managing uplink power control in accordance with priority-specific beta factors. An example method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes determining a value of a beta factor based on a priority level of uplink control information (UCI) to be transmitted on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and transmitting the UCI on the PUSCH with transmit power determined based, at least in part, on the value of beta factor. Another example method performed by a UE generally includes deciding, when the UE is configured to perform demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling across PUSCH repetitions, whether to prioritize the DMRS bundling or transmission of UCI multiplexed in one of the PUSCH repetitions; and transmitting the PUSCH repetition with the multiplexed UCI in accordance with the decision.

  • Publication number: 20230209613
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for uplink carrier selection for uplink random access channel (RACH) transmissions in a flexible cell configuration in a wireless communication system. A user equipment (UE) in a flexible cell selects at least one carrier for transmitting one or more uplink RACH transmissions to a base station. In aspects, the base station transmits an indication to the UE indicating which carrier the UE is to select for transmitting the one or more uplink RACH transmission. In aspects, the UE determines the carrier to transmit the one or more uplink RACH transmissions to the base station based on a comparison of reference signal measurements to predetermined thresholds. In these aspects, based on whether the measurements exceed the predetermined thresholds or not, the UE selects a carrier for transmitting the one or more uplink RACH transmission to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11690104
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may attempt to connect to a base station using a random access procedure. During the random access procedure, the base station may transmit control information associated with a random access response (RAR) during a RAR window. The UE may attempt to receive a single instance of the control information and, in some cases, may be unable to receive and decode the single instance of the control information. The base station may configure one or more RAR windows (or segment(s) thereof) to support transmitting repeating instances of the control information and/or RAR. The UE may identify a quantity of instances of the repeated control information and combine the instances. The UE may successfully decode the combined instances of control information and identify a location for receiving the RAR.

  • Patent number: 11690087
Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for duplex mode configuration for control information (e.g., duplex mode configuration for communication of downlink control information). For example, duplex modes may be defined (e.g., as full duplex (FD) capable, FD only, half duplex (HD) only, etc.), and such duplex modes may be configured for control resource sets (CORESETs), search space (SS) sets, or both. In some examples, duplex modes configured for a CORESET/SS set may depend on the priority of information conveyed via the CORESET/SS set. For example, a CORESET/SS set for high priority or critical control information may be configured with a HD mode to avoid FD self-interference, while CORESET/SS set for other control information may be configured with a FD mode to improve spectrum efficiency. Techniques for resolving conflicting duplex mode configurations (e.g., when a HD mode is configured for a SS set within a CORESET configured with FD) are also described.

  • Publication number: 20230199649
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Base stations may reduce energy consumption by minimizing the use of periodic signals such as the system information block one (SIB1), which a user equipment (UE) may use to perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station. A UE may transmit a wake-up signal to the base station requesting an SIB1. The base station may transmit a synchronization signal block (SSB) that indicates that the base station is not transmitting an SIB1, and the UE may transmit the cell wake-up signal in response. A base station may refrain from periodically transmitting SSBs. A UE may determine that it is within range of a base station and that it has not received an SSB. The UE may transmit a wake-up signal to the base station, and the base station may transmit an SSB and an SIB1 to the UE.
