  • Patent number: 10419231
Abstract: Techniques for bridging communication between multiple networks to facilitate distribution of multicast data are described herein. For example, the techniques may identify a particular node that is able to communicate with each network and instruct the particular node to act as a bridge between the networks. The particular node may forward data from either network to the other network. This may allow data for a multicast group to be distributed to members of the multicast group that are located in separate networks.

  • Patent number: 10408622
Abstract: Described is a system for incremental trajectory estimation of an implement. During operation, the system determines a time span of each stationary period of the implement based on accelerometer and gyroscopic data. Gyroscopic bias is then estimated based on the time span and gyroscopic data. An attitude of the implement is then estimated at each time step based on the estimated gyroscopic bias and gyroscopic data. Further, a traveling distance of the implement is estimated. Finally, a trajectory of the implement is estimated based on the estimated attitude and traveling distance. Given the trajectory estimate, an implement (e.g., drilling platform, vehicle, etc.) can be caused to alter its direction based on the trajectory estimate.

  • Patent number: 10375672
Abstract: Techniques for broadcasting data in a multi-channel network having a control channel and multiple data channels are described. A node wishing to broadcast data may determine a particular data channel from among the multiple data channels, a modulation technique, and a data rate to be utilized to broadcast the data. The broadcasting node may transmit a message over the control channel indicating that the data will be broadcast on the particular data channel using the modulation technique and at the determined data rate. The broadcasting node and a node wishing to receive the data may switch to the particular data channel. The broadcasting node may broadcast the data over the particular data channel, while the receiving node may receive the data. After broadcasting the data or a predetermined time period has expired, the broadcasting node and receiving node may switch to the control channel.

  • Patent number: 10329897
Abstract: Described is a system for estimating measured depth of a borehole. The system comprises a drilling fluid pulse telemetry system positioned in a borehole and processors connected with the drilling fluid pulse telemetry system. Time series measures are obtained from an environmental sensor package. Initial estimates of a time delay and path attenuation amplitude are determined. An error for the initial estimates is determined, and iterative minimization of the error is performed until source signal parameters converge, resulting in a least squares estimate of the source signal and the reflected signals. The least squares estimate is used to obtain time delay values, which are then used to continuously generate an estimate of a measured depth of the borehole.

  • Publication number: 20190165962
Abstract: Techniques for bridging communication between multiple networks to facilitate distribution of multicast data are described herein. For example, a node that is able to communicate with its network and an adjacent network may send a subscription message indicating that the node is a member of a multicast group. The subscription message may be forwarded up both networks. The node may then forward, between the networks, data that is destined for members of the multicast group.

  • Publication number: 20190165964
Abstract: Techniques for limiting forwarding of multicast communications are described herein. For example, the techniques intelligently forward data along paths of a network where members of a multicast group are located. As such, nodes that do not lead to members of the multicast group may be pruned from distribution of the data. This reduces network communications, ultimately conserving processing, communication, and/or battery resources of the nodes.

  • Patent number: 10305669
Abstract: Techniques directed to attributing information regarding communications with a modulation scheme to a different modulation scheme are described. In one example, a successful communication for a higher data rate modulation scheme may be attributed to a lower data rate modulation scheme. Such attribution may infer that the lower data rate modulation scheme would have also been successful if it had been used. In another example, an unsuccessful communication for a lower data rate modulation may be attributed to a higher data rate modulation scheme. Here, such attribution may infer that the higher data rate modulation scheme would have also been unsuccessful if it had been used.

  • Patent number: 10268464
Abstract: Technologies for network application programming include a computing device that analyzes a network application source program. The source program includes a declarative description of a network application in a domain-specific language, such as P4. The computing device translates the declarative description of the network application into a register-transfer level (RTL) description, and then compiles the RTL description into a bitstream definition that is targeted to an FPGA. For example, the computing device may generate a parse graph based on the network application source program, and then generate an RTL TCAM-SRAM structure for each node of the parse graph. The computing device may optimize the RTL description, for example by simplifying RTL structures or removing unused logic. The computing device may program an FPGA with the bitstream definition. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
