  • Patent number: 10196975
Abstract: A method of isolating a turbine shroud from propeller loads in an engine having an outer case with a mount defining a mount plane and an attachment location within the mount plane, the mount configured for attachment of the engine to an aircraft at the attachment location to transfer the propeller loads. The shaft of the engine is supported with a portion of the outer case extending from the mount and defining a load path for the propeller loads. The turbine support case is attached to extend free of the load path, by attaching the turbine support case to the outer case only through a connection along the plane, the connection defining a pivot point allowing a limited relative pivoting motion around the pivot point between the turbine support case and the mount. The turbine shroud is located by directly connecting it to the turbine support case.

  • Publication number: 20170216456
Abstract: Provided herein are methods for facilitating or inducing stable transgene integration and expression in a proliferating cell, comprising administering to the cell (i) a recombinant AAV (rAAV) vector comprising the transgene flanked by transposon-derived inverted terminal repeat sequences, which sequences are in turn flanked by AAV-derived inverted terminal repeat regions, and (ii) a source of a transposase that recognises said transposon-derived inverted terminal repeat sequences and directs the genomic integration of the transgene into the genome of the proliferating cell. Also provided are methods and transgene delivery systems for the treatment or prevention of diseases affecting, associated with or characterised by proliferating cells, including paediatric liver diseases, bone marrow diseases and cancer.

  • Publication number: 20170169463
Abstract: An apparatus, computer-readable medium, and computer-implemented method for determining effectiveness of a targeting model, including setting target variables corresponding to an initial group of consumers, the initial group of consumers corresponding to a subgroup of an experimental group of consumers which is larger than the initial group of consumers, applying the targeting model to an experimental set of consumer data corresponding to the experimental group of consumers to generate a plurality of experimental scores which score the experimental group of consumers according to projected fit with the target profile, identifying any experimental scores in the plurality of experimental scores which correspond to the initial group of consumers, and determining an effectiveness of the targeting model with respect to the target profile based at least in part on the target variables and one or more metrics which quantify the identified experimental scores relative to the plurality of experimental scores.

  • Publication number: 20170031585
Abstract: Methods and systems of managing settings are described. According to various embodiments, a settings page corresponding to a user's settings on an online service may be caused to be displayed on a device. The settings page may comprise selectable category setting options for a setting category. The setting category may have a plurality of subcategories, and each subcategory may have its own selectable subcategory setting options. Each one of the category setting options may correspond to its own distinct configuration of subcategory setting options for its subcategories. A user input indicating a selection of one of the category setting options for the setting category may be received. The configuration of subcategory setting options corresponding to the selected one of the category setting options for the setting category may be applied to the user's settings on the online service.

  • Publication number: 20160371675
Abstract: A mobile device, such as a cellular phone, can retrieve log data from a secured terminal, such as an automated teller machine. The mobile device can download data including a log from a secured terminal through a connection established therebetween, such as through a wired port on the secured terminal. The mobile device can determine a data representation of a geographic location of the secured terminal determined from at least one of a positioning service and a positioning device, such as from a global positioning system module of the mobile device. The mobile device can automatically upload data including the log and the geographic location to at least one server via a network, such as a wireless 3G network. The at least one server can select the closest secured terminal to the first geographic location, based on a database of known, stored locations of secured terminals.
