  • Publication number: 20160008228
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring medication compliance to allow a doctor or medical care provider to determine whether a subject is ingesting a prescribed medication at the proper times. This can include the capability of remote access to remotely monitor compliance. A medication container includes a plurality of medication-containing cells, with frangible covers overlaying each cell. An electrical circuit includes a sequential value element associated with each cell, with the sequential value elements being connected in parallel and having a unique value. When the cover of a cell is broken, the associated sequential value element is uncoupled from the electrical circuit. A measurement device calculates the combined value of the sequential value elements coupled to the electrical circuit to determine which of the cells have been accessed via breakage of the associated cover.

  • Publication number: 20160003898
Abstract: Systems and methods provided for testing remote frequency identification (RFID) straps on a web. Testing system includes a test head having a pair of contact pins configured to be moved toward the web (or configured to make contact with web moved towards them) and into contact with the web or RFID strap. Conveyor continuously moves the web to move individual RFID straps into and out of alignment with the test head. Controller causes the contact pins to move toward the web at a frequency that's greater than the frequency at which the conveyor moves consecutive RFID straps into alignment with the test head. Alternatively or additionally, the test head may have a mount formed of a compliant material that allows at least a portion of the test head to deflect while the contact pins are in contact with a continuously moving RFID strap, thereby maintaining contact between contact pins and strap.

  • Publication number: 20160003899
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for testing remote frequency identification (RFID) straps. A testing system includes an amplifier electrically coupled to an inductor or inductive component. The system further includes a pair of contact points to be placed in contact with a pair of contact pads of an RFID strap. Connecting the contact points and the contact pads places the RFID strap in parallel with the inductor to define a resonant circuit. The characteristics of the resonant circuit as an oscillator depend at least in part on the capacitance and the resistance of the RFID strap. As such, the characteristics of the resonant circuit as an oscillator may be monitored to determine the capacitance and/or the resistance of the RFID strap. One or more characteristics of the RFID strap may be compared to one or more threshold values to determine whether the RFID strap is acceptable or defective.

  • Patent number: 9229693
Abstract: A computing resource service provider may provide developers with access to a build service configured to generate compilation artifacts associated with software development projects. The build service may obtain a build description and source code suitable for generating the compilation artifact. The build service may then cause one or more build resources to be provisioned and included in a build instantiation using computing resources of the service provider. The build instantiation may generate the compilation artifact, using the one or more build resources, based at least in part on the obtained source code. The developer may then be provided with access to the compilation artifact generated by the build instantiation.

  • Patent number: 9223823
Abstract: Managing a log-full condition of a transaction log in a transaction processing system, where the transaction log has a plurality of log records each associated with a particular transaction. When a log-full condition is detected, the active transaction having the oldest log entry of all active transactions is identified and logging for all transactions except for the identified transaction is temporarily suspended. A dynamic transaction backout of the identified transaction is initiated, with the writing of a backout record for the identified transaction to the log being delayed. Confirmation that the backout has completed is awaited before trimming the log. Then the delayed backout record for the identified transaction is written to the log, and normal logging is resumed.

  • Patent number: 9196164
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to notifying a pedestrian of the intent of a self-driving vehicle. For example, the vehicle may include sensors which detect an object such as a pedestrian attempting or about to cross the roadway in front of the vehicle. The vehicle's computer may then determine the correct way to respond to the pedestrian. For example, the computer may determine that the vehicle should stop or slow down, yield, or stop if it is safe to do so. The vehicle may then provide a notification to the pedestrian of what the vehicle is going to or is currently doing. For example, the vehicle may include a physical signaling device, an electronic sign or lights, a speaker for providing audible notifications, etc.
