  • Patent number: 9582750
Abstract: An RFID device includes a conductive sheet defining at least first and second portions, with an intermediate portion joining the other portions. One or more RFID chips electrically coupled to the portions, such as one or both of the first and second portions of the conductive sheet and to the intermediate portion. The first portion of the conductive sheet defines a multi-turn high frequency antenna having one or more disruptions in the conductive sheet positioned between and/or defining adjacent turns of the multi-turn antenna. The second portion of the conductive sheet defines a first radiating arm of an ultra high frequency antenna. The disruptions direct a high frequency current around the turns of the multi-turn high frequency antenna, while allowing an ultra high frequency current to flow across the disruptions, resulting in the first portion of the conductive sheet defining a second radiating arm of the ultra high frequency antenna.

  • Patent number: 9561312
Abstract: A manually-activated reduced pressure treatment system includes a substantially rigid housing, and an end cap slidingly received by the housing. An inner chamber is disposed between the end cap and housing, and a volume of the inner chamber is variable in amount depending on the position of the end cap within the housing. The end cap is slidingly movable between an uncompressed position at which the volume of the inner chamber is at a maximum value and a compressed position at which the volume of the inner chamber is at a minimum value. A position indicating member is associated with the end cap and housing to indicate the position of the end cap relative to the housing at predetermined positions between the uncompressed position and the compressed position.

  • Patent number: 9545356
Abstract: A therapeutic hand exercise device includes one or more pliant sleeves (5) for attachment to one or more digits of a human hand, a chamber (4) provided in at least a dorsal region of the or each pliant sleeve (5), a liquid inlet to the chamber and a pump (3) for supplying pressurized liquid to the or each chamber. Each pliant sleeve (5) is movable between a relaxed state and a stiffened state in which the pliant sleeve forms a substantially rigid elongate member for holding a finger disposed within the sleeve in an extended position. A resilient member (6) is fitted to the palmar side of each pliant sleeve which returns the finger to a state of contracture.

  • Publication number: 20170011240
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring medication compliance to allow a doctor or medical care provider to determine whether a subject is ingesting a prescribed medication at the proper times. A medication container includes at least one medication-containing cell, with a cover overlaying the cell. The medication within the cell is accessed through the cover. The medication container also includes an electrical circuit having an RFID chip electrically coupled to an antenna. The RFID chip is associated with the cover, while the antenna is configured to communicate with an RFID reader to detect whether the cell has been accessed through the cover. The RFID chip may be uncoupled from the antenna or remain coupled to the antenna upon the cell being accessed through the cover, with the antenna thereafter transmitting a signal to an RFID reader to indicate that the cell has been accessed through the cover.

  • Publication number: 20170008689
Abstract: An ejection tray is provided for use in combination with a medication container including a medication-containing cell. The tray includes a frame configured to receive at least a portion of the medication container. An actuator is movably associated with the frame to eject the medication from the cell. A switch is associated with the frame and configured to change from a first state to a second state upon the actuator being moved to eject the medication from the cell. A host processor is associated with the frame and is electrically coupled or selectively coupled to the switch. The host processor is programmed to detect a change in the state of the switch.

  • Patent number: 9537974
Abstract: Systems, methods and media are provided for collaborative caching of files in a cloud storage directory. One method includes providing, at a cloud storage server having a cloud storage directory, an interface configured for forming one or more groups. Each group has a plurality of members. The method also includes monitoring the cloud storage directory including a plurality of files that is shared amongst members of a working group and, upon detecting a file activity related to one of the plurality of files, updating a profile for the file. The method further includes determining using the updated profile whether to distribute the file to the group members by applying a policy to the updated profile. The method also includes distributing the file to the group members by downloading the file to cloud storage devices associated with the group members when it is determined to distribute the file.

  • Patent number: 9536259
Abstract: Systems and methods for entity-based searching with content selection include receiving a search query and determining that the search query corresponds to a search entity. The search entity may be associated with an online action, thereby forming an entity-action pair. Auction parameters that specify the entity-action pair may be used to select third-party content. A visual layout for the third-party content may be generated based on the relationship between a search query and the entity-action pair and used as part of the presentation of the third-party content on a search result screen.
