  • Publication number: 20190129160
Abstract: A method of generating in-focus images of measurement locations of a sample holder in a microscopy imaging system is provided. A camera sensor and an array of focusing optics are positioned at a first focal distance from the sample holder. A first image of a measurement location is acquired using the camera sensor. A candidate output image associated with the camera sensor and the array of focusing optics is developed in accordance with the first image. The camera sensor with the array of focusing optics is positioned at a second distance from the sample holder and a second image of the measurement location is acquired using the camera sensor. A portion of the candidate output image is updated in accordance with a portion of the second image in accordance with a selection criterion. The updated candidate image is transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20190115835
Abstract: Control circuits and methods to operate a switch of a DC-DC converter, including an output circuit to turn the switch off to control a peak inductor current in a given switching control cycle, and a modulation circuit to implement transition mode (TM) or continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation for a given switching control cycle by causing the output circuit to turn the switch on in response to an earlier one of a first signal, that represents an inductor current of the DC-DC converter, decreasing to a reference voltage that represents a zero crossing of the inductor current for the TM operation or the first signal decreasing to a valley reference signal that represents a non-zero value of the inductor current for the CCM operation.

  • Patent number: 10251226
Abstract: In a power converter, a circuit determines an average value of an inaccessible current from an average value of an accessible current and a value of the operating duty cycle of the converter. A method of measuring an average value of an inaccessible current from a measured value of a current, in a power converter, by a duty cycle of a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal, representing a duty cycle of the power converter. Coupling a voltage representing the measured value to an input of a low pass filter during a time period (D) and coupling the input of the low pass filter to a reference voltage during a time period (1?D).

  • Publication number: 20190012521
Abstract: A system and a method to analyze a phenotypical response of cells to a treatment are disclosed in which a model development module receives images of a plurality of reference cell carriers and treatment information associated with the plurality of reference cell carriers, identifies parameters of cells in the image that distinguish those reference cell carriers to which the treatment has been applied from other reference cell carriers, and trains a model using the identified parameters. A high-content imaging system includes an image capture device, and the image acquisition module receives from the image capture device a plurality of images of cell carriers to be evaluated. The model application module applies the trained model to the plurality of images of the cell carriers to be evaluated to predict a concentration of the treatment applied to each of the cell carriers evaluated.

  • Patent number: 10116222
Abstract: Disclosed examples include synchronous rectifiers and flyback converters, integrated circuits and operating methods, in which a first switch is turned on to allow current to flow for a first time period in a first direction in a transformer primary winding responsive to a first switch voltage transitioning below a first threshold, and a second switch is turned on for a second time period after the first time period to transfer energy from a secondary transformer winding to drive a load. In the same converter cycle, the second switch is again turned on for a third time period in response to a second switch voltage transitioning below a second threshold at one of a series of troughs of a resonant ringing voltage waveform across the second switch, to cause current flow in a second direction in the primary winding to discharge a capacitance of the first switch to cause the first switch voltage to transition below the first threshold to initiate a subsequent converter cycle.

  • Publication number: 20180294729
Abstract: A circuit includes a synchronous rectifier that receives an alternating current (AC) voltage from a transformer secondary and provides a rectified direct current (DC) output voltage in response to a control input signal. A secondary rectifier switching circuit generates the control input signal. A current replica circuit generates a control voltage that replicates a current in the transformer secondary. The control voltage is employed to control switching of the secondary rectifier switching circuit based on the current in the transformer secondary. An offset circuit forces the control voltage in a predetermined direction to mitigate voltage error accumulations in the current replica circuit. A clamp circuit limits the control voltage to a predetermined voltage value.

  • Publication number: 20180269797
Abstract: Disclosed examples include flyback converters, control circuits and methods to facilitate secondary side regulation of the output voltage. A primary side control circuit operates a primary side switch to independently initiate power transfer cycles to deliver power to a transformer secondary winding in a first mode. A secondary side control circuit operates a synchronous rectifier or secondary side switch to generate a predetermined cycle start request signal via a transformer auxiliary winding to assume secondary side regulation and to cause the primary side controller to initiate new power transfer cycles.

  • Patent number: 10061974
Abstract: In a method and system for identifying objects in an image, an image and training data are received. The training data identifies a pixel associated with an object of a particular type in the image. A plurality of filtered versions of the image are developed. The training data and the plurality of filtered versions of the image are processed to develop a trained model for classifying pixels associated with objects of the particular type. The trained model is applied to the image to identify pixels associated a plurality of objects of the particular type in the image. Additional image processing steps are developed to further refine the identified pixels for better fitting of the contour of the objects with their edges.
