  • Patent number: 11640862
Abstract: A method utilizes a funnel system and robotic end effector grippers to feed an unjacketed portion of a shielded cable through a sleeve. The funnel is designed with one or more thin extensions (hereinafter “prongs”) on which a sleeve is placed prior to a cable entering the funnel. Preferably two or more prongs are employed, although a single prong may be used if properly configured to both guide a cable and fit between the sleeve and cable. The prongs close off the uneven surface internal to a sleeve and provide a smooth surface for the cable to slide along and through the sleeve, preventing any damage to the exposed shielding. The sleeve is picked up and held on the prongs using a robotic end effector. If the sleeve is a solder sleeve, the robotic end effector has grippers designed to make contact with the portions of the solder sleeve that are between the insulating rings and the central solder ring.

  • Publication number: 20230108209
Abstract: In a service mesh, back-pressure is applied and relieved as needed by a control mechanism which is applied between pairs of services to control the rate at which service requests are made from one of service to the other via monitoring hardware and/or software metrics. A proxy of one service is monitored to observe the rate at which it receives service requests from the other service. If it is observed that the monitored metrics have breached allowable limits, back-pressure is applied to reduce the rate at which the other proxy transmits these service requests. Through continued monitoring of the proxy, the back-pressure can be later relieved when appropriate by increasing the permitted request rate.

  • Patent number: 11621919
Abstract: A computer system hosting (micro)services that uses a service mesh to govern communication between the services. The services include consumer services and an event stream service, the latter directing an event stream from a producer service to the individual consumer services. The control plane of the service mesh has the role of creating and removing service instances. Based on a specified event capacity that is to be provided by the consumer services collectively, the control plane manages service provisioning by estimating the current event capacity of the system. This is done by measuring the event capacities of each consumer service instance and summing them, from which any shortfall or excess of the current event capacity in relation to the specified event capacity can be determined. Consumer service instances are then added in case of a shortfall or removed in case of an excess as needed to avoid over or under-provisioning.

  • Patent number: 11610702
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for temporarily holding one end of a wire on a harness form board during automated transfer from one robot to another robot. The apparatus includes a wire holding device which is designed to facilitate the transfer of a wire end from a first end effector of a first robot to a second end effector of a second robot. The wire holding devices have different structures, but share the common feature that opening of the wire holding device (to enable wire insertion) involves applying a contact force which overcomes a spring force that urges the wire holding device to be closed. The end effectors are designed and their movements are controlled in a manner such that the moving end effector applies the contact force necessary to overcome the closure-inducing spring force being exerted.

  • Publication number: 20230058885
Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems and methods to indicate when errors occur in a data pipeline. In some examples, data monitoring circuitry monitors the operations of a data pipeline. The data monitoring circuitry ingests an output data set generated by the pipeline, compares the output data set to an expected output, identifies differences between the output data set and the expected output, and determines when the magnitude of the difference exceeds an error threshold. When the error threshold is exceeded, the data monitoring circuitry generates a graphical representation of the output data set, a graphical representation of the expected pipeline output, and an animated transition from the graphical representation of the expected pipeline output to the graphical representation of the output data.

  • Publication number: 20230040648
Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems and methods to determine entropy in strings generated by a data pipeline. In some examples, data monitoring circuitry monitors a data pipeline that ingests input data, processes the input data, and responsively generates and transfers a data string that comprises character groups. The data monitoring circuitry receives the data string, identifies character groups in the data string, identifies group types for the character groups, and assigns numbers to the character groups based on the group types. The data monitoring circuitry determines a probability distribution for the numbers, calculates entropy for the data string based on probability distribution, and generates an entropy histogram based on the entropy. The data monitoring circuitry compares the entropy histogram of the data string to another entropy histogram for another data string, determines a change in entropy, and reports the change in entropy.

  • Publication number: 20230041906
Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems and methods to monitor operations of a data pipeline. In some examples, a data pipeline receives data inputs, processes the data inputs, and responsively generates and transfers data outputs. Data monitoring circuitry monitors the operations of the data pipeline circuitry, identifies an input change between an initial one of the data inputs and a subsequent one of the data inputs, and identifies an output change between an initial one of the data outputs and a subsequent one of the data outputs. The data monitoring circuitry correlates the input change to the output change, determines a quality threshold for the output change based on the correlation, and determines when the output change falls below the quality threshold. When the output change falls below the quality threshold, the data monitoring circuitry generates and transfers an alert that indicates the input change and the output change.

  • Publication number: 20230044986
Abstract: Various embodiments comprise systems and methods to maintain data consistency in a data pipeline. In some examples, a computing system comprises data monitoring circuitry that monitors the operations of the data pipeline. The data pipeline receives input data, processes the input data, and generates output data. The data monitoring circuitry receives and processes the output data sets to identify changes between the output data sets. The data monitoring circuitry generates a consistency score based on the changes that indicates a similarity level between the output data sets. The data monitoring circuitry determines when the consistency score exceeds a threshold value. When the consistency score exceeds the threshold value, the data monitoring circuitry generates and transfers an alert that indicates ones of the output data sets that exceeded the threshold value.
