A single cable between the housing portions provides power and data communications for the components. A battery in a first housing portion interfaces with a secondary board having a charger and embedded controller that cooperate to provide power at a native battery voltage to a main board of a second housing portion through the cable. A switched-capacitor voltage regulator coupled to the main board reduces the power to a system voltage with a selectable divider ratio that is set based upon the measured battery voltage applied at the main board.

Abstract: A portable information handling system includes a physical keyboard that extends and retracts from within the system to outside of the system and a display that presents a virtual keyboard that moves synchronously with physical keyboard during retraction and extension. For example, as keys of the physical keyboard become visible or hidden by movement of the physical keyboard, the virtual keyboard slides across the display so that virtual keys are hidden or visible with the virtual keyboard in one example embodiment only showing virtual keys corresponding to hidden physical keys. In another example embodiment, the virtual keyboard accepts key inputs for hidden physical keys, which are disabled from accepting inputs.

The one or more processors are configured to determine a plurality of input areas of a touchpad associated with a computing device. The touchpad is associated with a sensitivity setting that indicates a first sensitivity for a first input area of the touchpad and that further indicates a second sensitivity for a second input area of the touchpad that is different than the first input area. The one or more processors are further configured to receive user input from a user input device associated with the computing device. The one or more processors are further configured to change the sensitivity setting based on the user input. Changing the sensitivity setting includes reducing the first sensitivity.

A first slot is defined by first and second plates, and a second slot is defined by the second plate and a third plate. The second plate includes a first transmit coil for wirelessly transmitting power to a first receive coil in a first mobile computing device within the first slot, and to a second receive coil in a second mobile computing device within the second slot.

A light source located at the edge of the keyboard membrane provides illumination to the plural lightguides with individual control per row of keys for improved light transmission efficiency.

Abstract: A method for adjusting illumination of a user operating an information handling system may include capturing an image of the user's face using a camera at the information handling system. The method may further include determining lighting characteristics of the user's face based on the captured image. A border to be displayed surrounding a video image can be generated based on the determined lighting characteristics. The video image and the border can be displayed at a display device.
