  • Patent number: 11523604
Abstract: In some examples, a trap to electrocute a pest may include a logic board. The logic board may create an open circuit using two electrical contacts in touch with two conductive plates in a container located in the trap. A pest entering the container may touch the two conductive plates, causing the circuit to close. Based on determining that the circuit was closed, the logic board may determine that a pest entered the trap. The logic board may cause a shutter inside the trap to move from an approximately horizontal position to an approximately vertical position, thereby causing a portion of a door of the container to close by causing two latch strikes of the door to engage with the two jaws of the container. The circuit may send a wireless notification message, indicating that the pest was captured in the container, over a wireless network to a computing device.

  • Patent number: 11513612
Abstract: An information handling system keyboard includes moveable keys that depress vertically to perform an input at a membrane, such as against a contact sensor, and fixed keys that detect an input without requiring vertical movement, such as a force against a pressure sensor integrated in the membrane. The fixed keys are disposed at opposing sides of the keyboard to align along an edge of the information handling system housing and the moveable keys are disposed between the opposing ends of fixed keys. Haptic actuators disposed under the fixed keys provides feedback to an end user when an input is sensed at a fixed key.

  • Patent number: 11513600
Abstract: A portable information handling system integrates a keyboard having plural sensors configured at each of keyboard key positions to detect key inputs made with presses at the key positions by deflection of a glass cover having a reduced thickness at each key position. Haptic devices, such as piezo actuators, actuate at sensor sensed inputs to reinforce end user input touch feedback over the feedback provided by deflection of the glass cover. In one embodiment, the plural sensors are incorporated in a membrane having OLED illumination that identifies the key value at each key position.

  • Publication number: 20220357776
Abstract: A portable information handling system includes a motorized hinge that rotates first and second housing portions between open and closed positions and a clutch hinge that manages torque during rotation of the first and second housing portions. A clutch of the clutch hinge couples to an axle with a compressive mechanism and a clamping mechanism that combine to apply a total torque that resists rotation of the first and second housing portions. • Publication number: 20220361266
Abstract: An information handling system and keyboard automatically coordinate wireless pairing when the keyboard couples to the information handling system to interface contacts exposed at the information handling system housing and the keyboard. The information handling system retrieves an identifier of the keyboard through a contact, determines if the keyboard is already paired, and if not initiates wireless pairing with a command through the contact. A pairing key is provided from the keyboard to the information handling system through the contact and applied by the information handling system to complete pairing. A confirm code is communicated through the contact to the keyboard for communication back to the information handling system by wireless signals. The contacts provide a charging path to charge the keyboard when coupled to the information handling system.

  • Patent number: 11442527
Abstract: An information handling system includes a display device, a user input device, and a processor. The processor communicates with the display device and with the user input device. The processor detects whether the user input device is in an idle state. In response to an initial detection of the user input device being in the idle state, the processor continually determines a power consumption of the display device. While the power consumption is continually determined, the processor determines whether a predetermined amount of energy has been consumed. In response to a predetermined amount of energy being consumed, the processor turns off the display device.

  • Publication number: 20220237479
Abstract: A system and method for predicting remaining battery life for a portable information handling systems include determining power consumption for an OLED display based on an on pixel ratio (OPR) for each pixel. When a user starts a session of an application and a file, file metadata may be used to search a database storing OPR profiles, with each OPR profile including one or more time series associated with one or more instances of the application executing the file. For static files, a time series in an OPR profile may be used to predict power consumption and calculate battery life. For dynamic files, periodically measuring OPR data may be used to predict power consumption. For some dynamic files, historic OPR values and periodic measurements may be used to predict power consumption. The user may be provided with a list of files usable during the calculated battery life.
