  • Patent number: 10227896
Abstract: Systems and methods for suppressing infrared radiation generated by a turbine engine. A system comprises a primary assembly having a center body, a plurality of vanes extending from the center body, an outer radial duct with the plurality of vanes extending therethrough, a structural baffle, and a mixer. The primary assembly is disposed in the exhaust flow path of a turbine engine and encased in ducting and/or an airfoil. An air flow path defined between the center body and outer radial duct is axially spit by an interface rim and flow segregator. The flow segregator segregates engine core flow from ambient air flow.

  • Publication number: 20190055771
Abstract: A safe for storing ammunition or other heat-sensitive explosive materials. The safe includes a plurality of walls, a door attached to one of the plurality of walls, an interior space defined by the plurality of walls and the door, an opening extending through one of the plurality of walls or the door, a pane coupled over the opening, and a cover coupled to the one of the plurality of walls or the door adjacent the pane. The pane automatically exposes the opening when the interior space reaches a predetermined temperature, which is lower than the temperature at which ammunition or other heat-sensitive explosive material detonates. Accordingly, the safe provides for pressure release before the ammunition or other heat-sensitive explosive material detonates.

  • Patent number: 10060714
Abstract: A portable target apparatus is described including a first sensored, penetrable target and a second sensored, penetrable target positioned adjacent the first sensored, penetrable target. A user defined number of projectile penetrations on only the first sensored, penetrable target position it non-upright out of the shooter's field-of-view. Whenever the second sensored, penetrable target is penetrated by a projectile the first sensored, penetrable target does not move to the non-upright position out of the shooter's field-of-view even when the same projectile also penetrates the first sensored, penetrable target.

  • Patent number: 9783909
Abstract: In some examples, a method includes forming a photoresist layer on a surface of a metallic substrate and developing the photoresist layer to define a pattern exposing a portion of the surface of the metallic substrate. The method also may include forming an electrically conductive layer on a surface of the photoresist layer and the exposed portions of the surface of the metallic substrate. The electrically conductive layer contacts the exposed portions of the surface of the metallic substrate. The method may further include submerging the substrate, the photoresist layer, and the electrically conductive layer in an electrolyte solution; and applying a voltage to between a cathode and an anode submerged in the electrolyte solution to anisotropically etch the metallic substrate where the electrically conductive layer contacts the exposed portions of the surface of the metallic substrate to form at least one feature in the metallic substrate.
