  • Patent number: 9692945
Abstract: An invention for measuring, maintaining and correcting synchronization between signals which suffer varying relative delays during transmission and/or storage is shown. The present invention teaches measuring the relative delay between a plurality of signals which have suffered differing delays due to transmission, storage or other processing. The preferred embodiment of the invention includes the use of a marker which is generated in response to a second signal and combined with a first signal in a manner which ensures that the marker will not be lost in the expected processing of the first signal. Subsequently a first delayed marker is generated in response to the marker associated with or recovered from the first signal, and a second delayed marker is generated from the second signal. The first delayed marker and second delayed marker are compared to determine a measure of the relative timing or delay between said first signal and said second signal at said subsequent time.

  • Publication number: 20160316108
Abstract: Method and system for measuring audio video synchronization. This is done by having a remote sensing station to measure and process the audio and images from a multimedia terminal that displays a television program. The remote sensing station uses an audio sensor to sense the audio signal from the multimedia station and an image sensor to sense the images displayed on the multimedia station. An AV processing circuit in the remote sensing terminal processes the signals from the audio sensor and the sensed images. The delay information is then communicated to the multimedia station to adjust the AV synchronization.

  • Publication number: 20160264453
Abstract: The present invention relates to fiber glass strands, yarns, fabrics, composites, prepregs, laminates, fiber-metal laminates, and other products incorporating glass fibers formed from glass compositions. The glass fibers, in some embodiments, are incorporated into composites that can be used in reinforcement applications. • Patent number: 9412109
Abstract: A computing system determines incremental values associated with a plurality of clustering solutions. Each of the clustering solutions groups stores of a retailer into clusters in a different way. For each clustering solution in the plurality of clustering solutions, the incremental value associated with the clustering solution indicates a difference between an estimated revenue associated with the clustering solution and revenue associated with a baseline clustering solution. The computing system then determines, based on the incremental values associated with the plurality of clustering solutions, the appropriate number of clusters. The clustering solutions that group the stores into more or fewer clusters than the appropriate number of clusters tend to be associated with incremental values that are the same or lower than the clustering solutions that group the stores into the appropriate number of clusters.

  • Publication number: 20160222518
Abstract: In some examples, a method includes forming a photoresist layer on a surface of a metallic substrate and developing the photoresist layer to define a pattern exposing a portion of the surface of the metallic substrate. The method also may include forming an electrically conductive layer on a surface of the photoresist layer and the exposed portions of the surface of the metallic substrate. The electrically conductive layer contacts the exposed portions of the surface of the metallic substrate. The method may further include submerging the substrate, the photoresist layer, and the electrically conductive layer in an electrolyte solution; and applying a voltage to between a cathode and an anode submerged in the electrolyte solution to anisotropically etch the metallic substrate where the electrically conductive layer contacts the exposed portions of the surface of the metallic substrate to form at least one feature in the metallic substrate.

  • Publication number: 20150237477
Abstract: A group of tourists traveling, for example, in a foreign land needs to be sure that no-one becomes lost. Embodiments of the present invention take advantage of mobile wireless terminals colloquially known as “smartphones” to quickly identify any members of a tour group that stray from the group, and to help them rejoin the group. Also, with the assistance of a Central Command Center, appropriate authorities such as a tour leader or relatives can be automatically notified, and search operations initiated if needed.
