    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for PUSCH resource selection in 2-step random access (RA). In one embodiment, a wireless device is configured to receive a two-step RA configuration having: a first resource allocation for a PUSCH transmission of a first message, msgA, of the two-step RA procedure, the first resource allocation for the PUSCH transmission of the msgA being associated with a first set of preambles; and a second resource allocation for the PUSCH transmission of the msgA associated with a second set of preambles; select one of the first and second resource allocation and the associated one of the first and second set of preambles based on the two-step RA configuration and a payload size of the PUSCH transmission of the msgA; and transmit the PUSCH transmission of the msgA using the selected one of the first and second resource allocation.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for random access procedure. A method at a user equipment (UE) comprises selecting a synchronization signal and physical broadcast channel block (SSB) with a signal measured metric satisfying a criterion. The method further comprises transmitting a first message including a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a RACH occasion and data on an uplink shared channel (USCH) to a base station. The RACH preamble and the RACH occasion are selected based on a mapping of the SSB to the RACH preamble and the RACH occasion. The method further comprises receiving a second message from the base station as a response to the first message.

    Abstract: A wireless device is configured to receive information from a network node. The information indicates whether or not a medium access control, MAC, service data unit, SDU, for a signaling radio bearer, SRB, or data radio bearer, DRB, is to be received by the wireless device in the same MAC protocol data unit, PDU, as a MAC PDU carrying a random access success response message. This random access success response message indicates both a random access channel and an uplink shared channel payload were decoded successfully. In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to receive a MAC PDU carrying the random access success response message, and to process the received MAC PDU based on the received information indicating whether a MAC SDU for an SRB or DRB is included in the received MAC PDU.

    Abstract: A method for enabling group transmission among devices capable of Device to Device, D2D, communication in network having a base station. The devices have a group coordinator may directly communicate with one another over a D2D link. The group coordinator device is arranged to communicate with the base station over a cellular link. The group coordinator device sends a Scheduling Request, SR, message requesting grants for both D2D and cellular transmission. The group coordinator device transmits a Buffer Status Report, BSR and receives a grant for said the D2D and the cellular transmissions based on the transmitted BSR. The group coordinator device distributes the received grant to the plurality of devices.

    Abstract: Group transmission of data from a group of User Equipment devices to a network node of a cellular communication system where communication between devices is effected by device-to-device technology can provide significant improvements in uplink coverage and user bit rate. However, the benefits of group transmission means that not all devices of a group have sufficient network coverage to reliably receive a grant signal scheduling uplink resources from a network node. Methods, devices and a network node are proposed that enable the dynamic selection of either a direct grant mode, in which each device receives the uplink grant directly from the network, or a relayed grant mode, in which a device acting as group coordinator relays the grant to all members of the group, to ensure optimal performance for group transmissions. The selection is dependent on at least one determined condition relating to the group of devices and/or the group transmission.
