  • Publication number: 20220386347
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to telecommunications. In one of its aspects, the disclosure concerns a method in a BS for time domain resource scheduling for group transmissions in a wireless communication system, which comprises the BS and a plurality of UEs, including a first UE. The plurality of UEs are assigned to a group. At least two of these UEs have data for group transmission to the BS. An aggregated BSR comprising BSRs from the at least two UEs is received from the first UE. The BS schedules time domain resources for at least one of SL transmissions of the data within the group and cooperative UL group transmissions of the data from the UEs to the BS. At least one bitmap indicating the scheduled time domain resources is generated and transmitted to the first UE. Each bit in each bitmap corresponds to a potential transmission in the corresponding UL and SL.

Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device is described herein. The wireless device operates in a wireless communications network. The wireless device provides a message to be sent to a network node operating in the wireless communications network. The message is a first scheduled message to be sent to the network node in a random access procedure. The message comprises a first indicator of a type of the message. The type of message has: a) a fixed size SDU, and b) a one byte header comprising the first indicator and lacking a second indicator of a length of a payload. The wireless device also initiates sending the provided message to the network node. Also described is a method performed by the network node receiving and initiating processing the message, based on the first indicator.

  • Publication number: 20220377534
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to telecommunications. In one of its aspects, the disclosure concerns a method in a source User Equipment (UE) for group transmissions in a wireless communications system comprising a group of UEs, including the source UE. The group is assigned a first group IDentity (ID). The source UE has data to be cooperatively transmitted by the group of UEs in a group transmission to a Radio Access Network (RAN) node. The method comprises transmitting, to the group of UEs, a SideLink (SL) message. The SL message comprises the data to be transmitted to the RAN node, a source UE ID identifying the source UE, the first group ID identifying the group of UEs receiving the data and an indicator indicating that the data comprised in the SL message is to be transmitted cooperatively by the group of UEs in a group transmission to the RAN node.

  • Publication number: 20220369368
Abstract: Buffer Status Reports (BSR), by which the network is made aware of uplink transmission needs of wirless devices, are specifically enabled to be transmitted using 2-step Random Access (RA), to reduce latency and network resource use. In one embodiment, 2-step RA configurations tailored to B SR-transmissions are introduced. These may, for example, use a subset of the configured resources in the configured 2-step RA resources for B SR. In another embodiment, conditions for triggering B SR over 2-step RA, depending on the traffic, are introduced. For example, the priority or the the delay budget of the traffic may be used to determine whether a BSR over 2-step RA should be triggered. In another embodiment, simplified procedures when receiving the response to MsgA are introduced. These may include, for example, not transmitting a full MsgB, but rather having the UE receive an UL grant.

  • Publication number: 20220369373
Abstract: A wireless device configured to perform a 2-step random access, RA, procedure transmits (802) a message according to the 2-step RA procedure, the message comprising a first random access preamble. The wireless device receives (804), during a RA response window following the transmitting of the message, a Medium Access Control, MAC, subheader. Using one or more bits or fields included in the received subheader, the wireless device determines (806) that it should take action according to any one of the following: backing off, according to a back-off parameter, for a subsequent RA attempt according to the 2-step RA procedure; falling back to a 4-step RA procedure by transmitting a new RA preamble; and falling back to a 4-step RA procedure after backing off according to a back-off parameter, by transmitting a new random access preamble after the back-off.

Abstract: A method, a system and a controller for controlling the Quality of Service, QoS, of a wireless link, providing a service from a transmitting entity to a receiving entity is suggested. Once data, decisive of the QoS of the hops of the wireless link has been received, it is determined, based on the received data, that at least one QoS target-value of one of said hops is, or is predicted, not to be met. For each of the mentioned hops, one or more actions for achieving that said at least one QoS target-value is met, is initiated and based on the determining of one or more actions, instructions, instructing at least one of the mobile relay stations how to execute one or more of said determined actions are initiated.

  • Publication number: 20220295561
Abstract: Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for uplink (UL) transmission on a shared channel in a cell of a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include determining that the shared channel is unavailable for UL transmission of pending data during a first transmission opportunity. This determination can be based on performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure on the shared channel. Such methods include determining that further data for UL transmission is available before a second transmission opportunity that is after the first transmission opportunity, and determining whether the pending data or the further data should be prioritized for UL transmission during the second transmission opportunity. This prioritization determination can be based on various factors. Such methods can also include transmitting the pending data or the further data, during the second transmission opportunity, based on the prioritization determination.

  • Patent number: 11432335
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for random access in a wireless communication network. When a UE receives a back-off indication from a base station responsive of the transmission of a preamble sequence associated with a first Synchronization Signal Block (SSB), the UE starts a back-off timer. The UE may transmit a preamble sequence associated with a different SSB before expiration of the back-off timer. In one embodiment, a per-SSB back-off timer is introduced to prevent the UE from switching back and forth between two SSBs.

  • Publication number: 20220225405
Abstract: A wireless device is configured to receive information from a network node. The information indicates whether or not a medium access control, MAC, service data unit, SDU, for a signaling radio bearer, SRB, or data radio bearer, DRB, is to be received by the wireless device in the same MAC protocol data unit, PDU, as a MAC PDU carrying a random access success response message. This random access success response message indicates both a random access channel and an uplink shared channel payload were decoded successfully. In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to receive a MAC PDU carrying the random access success response message, and to process the received MAC PDU based on the received information indicating whether a MAC SDU for an SRB or DRB is included in the received MAC PDU.
