  • Publication number: 20230389080
Abstract: A wireless communication device (12) receives a random access configuration (18) from a radio network node (14) configured to transmit multiple SSBs (16-1 . . . 16-N). The random access configuration (18) configures the wireless communication device (12) with a set (20) of one or more random access preambles. This set (20) of one or more random access preambles is not associated with any of the multiple SSBS (16-1 . . . 16-N). Upon receiving a random access preamble from this set, the radio network node (14) may transmit a random access response as a response to the random access preamble. The radio network node (14) may do so by transmitting the random access response on one or more downlink beams that are estimated from measurement of an uplink beam or uplink signal from the wireless communication device (12).

  • Publication number: 20230379905
Abstract: A method of controlling an indication of user data in a buffer of a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The user data is for Small Data Transmission (SDT) when the UE is in inactive mode. Based on a threshold value related to an amount of the user data for SDT, the UE determines whether to include an indication into a first uplink grant allocation transmission. The indication would indicate that user data is in the buffer. When an indication of user data in a buffer is not included in the first uplink grant, this indicates that the amount of data left in the buffer is less than the threshold value minus the first allocated grant transmission size, and when an indication of user data in a buffer is included, the indication indicates how many further transmissions are needed for transmitting the rest of the pending data.

  • Publication number: 20230371066
Abstract: A method performed by a user equipment (UE) for handling communication in a wireless communications network is described. The UE obtains an indication of a first size of a grant for a first type of data transmission and transmits an access request to a radio network node to perform data transmission of the first type of data transmission. Then the UE receives a grant from the radio network node. The grant indicates a size for granted data transmission, or comprises a type indication of type of data transmission of the granted data transmission. The UE compares the first size with the indicated size in the grant, or the first type of data transmission and the type of data transmission indicated by the type indication in the received grant and based on the comparison, determines whether to use the received grant for performing data transmissions or not.

  • Patent number: 11706820
Abstract: A method, performed by a UE, for handling a two-step Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure, in a wireless communications network is provided. When a Random Access (RA) event is triggered the UE obtains a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) preamble corresponding to the RA event and/or a desired grant size, by randomly select a preamble mapping to a table entry providing a required size of a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) resource for the triggered RA event. The UE then obtains a grant from the PUSCH resource table based on the obtained PRACH preamble, which grant includes an indication of a PUSCH resource to use for a Msg 3 transmission in uplink.
