  • Patent number: 9147620
Abstract: Circuitry for measuring a propagation delay in a circuit path. The circuitry includes a one-shot edge triggered element that can be connected in a loop with the circuit path. An edge signal propagating through the circuit path triggers the one-shot element to output a pulse. The pulse propagates around the loop, again triggering the one-shot element to produce a pulse, creating a repeating series of pulses. The period between these pulses is influenced by propagation time of an edge through the loop such that a difference in the period with the circuit path connected and not connected in the loop indicates propagation delay in the circuit path. Such circuitry can be configured to independently measure, and therefore calibrate for, propagation delays associated with rising and falling edges. Calibration to separately equalize propagation delays for rising and falling edges can increase the timing accuracy of an automatic test system.

  • Publication number: 20150137838
Abstract: A semiconductor device-under-test (DUT) may be tested by an automated test system that processes test programs specifying a number of edges per tester cycle that may be greater than the number of edges the tester is capable of generating. The test system may include circuitry that reduces the number of edges in each cycle of a test program based on data specifying operation of the tester in that cycle and/or a prior cycle. Such a reduction simplifies the circuitry required to implement an edge generator by reducing the total number of timing verniers per channel. Nonetheless, flexibility in programming the test system is retained.

  • Patent number: 8812698
Abstract: In a method of and system for enforcing authentication strength for remote portlets, a portlet is provided by a producer portal and consumed as remote portlet by a consumer portal. The producer portal defines an authentication strength level requirement for the portlet. A user requests the remote portlet from the consumer portal. The consumer portal authenticates the user with a particular authentication method that implies a particular authentication strength level. The producer portal authenticates the consumer portal with a particular authentication method that implies a particular authentication strength assertion level. The consumer portal requests the portlet from the producer portal with an assertion of the authentication strength level of the user. The producer portal rejects the request from the consumer portal if the authentication strength level of the user is less than the authentication strength level requirement for the portlet.

  • Patent number: 8693701
Abstract: Existing ANC headsets have active noise reduction circuitry and a power supply in the headset. Alternate ANC headsets rely on ANC circuitry in the player and have non-standard connectors meaning that they cannot be used with any other players. An audio headset (90) having an encoder (54) and active noise cancellation audio processing device (80) having a decoder (32) are described. The encoder (54) enables the audio headset to be used in enhanced (ANC) mode when connected to a compatible audio processing device and in normal mode when connected to a non-compatible audio processing device since a standard audio jack plug can be used. Similarly the decoder (62) in the active noise cancellation audio processing device (80) enables the active noise cancellation audio processing device to be used in enhanced mode when connected to a compatible audio headset and in normal mode connected to a non-compatible audio headset since a standard audio socket can be used.

  • Patent number: 8410824
Abstract: Techniques for designing a buffer capable of working with low supply voltages, and having active output impedance matching capability to optimize power delivery to a wide range of loads. In an exemplary embodiment, cascode transistors are provided in a buffer architecture employing common-source transistors having unequal width-to-length ratios (W/L) and a resistance having a corresponding fixed ratio to the load. At least one of the cascode transistors may be dynamically biased to minimize a difference between the drain voltages of the common-source transistors. In a further exemplary embodiment, the output impedance of the buffer may be actively tuned by selectively enabling a set of tuning transistors coupled in parallel with the load. Further techniques for providing a calibration mode and an operation mode are described.

  • Patent number: 8367962
Abstract: A tool welding system is disclosed that includes a table that heats a tool. A multi-axis robot includes a welding head that is moved relative to the table in response to a command. A controller is in communication with the robot and generates the command in response to welding parameters. The weld parameters are based upon a difference between an initial tool shape and a desired tool shape. The difference between the initial tool shape and the desired tool shape corresponds to a desired weld shape. The desired weld shape is adjusted based upon initial tool shape variations, which includes thermal growth of the tool. The tool is welded to provide the desired weld shape to achieve a desired tool shape.

  • Patent number: 8365271
Abstract: A client system is controlled for accessing protected remote resources via a Web Application using a rewriter proxy that supports relative URLs. In one configuration, the Web application can be a Portal application. A URL utility module can be provided for a rewriter proxy that splits an absolute URL into a base part (the URL string up to the resource) and the resource part. A security module computes an authentication identifier for the base part. This can occur by applying a secure hash algorithm and/or secret key. The URL utility module then constructs the rewritten URL by concatenating the URL encoded base part, the authentication identifier, and the resource part as separate path elements.
