  • Patent number: 12375925
Abstract: Embodiments of communication systems are disclosed for protecting communication between an implanted device ID and an external device ED. Optionally, the ID communicates over the TET channel by modulating a load on the channel. While the ID is communicating the ED optionally adds noise to the TET channel, inhibiting malicious interception of the communication. Using knowledge of the noise signal, the ED cleans the noise from the TET signal to recover the communication from the ID. In some embodiments, the TET link is used to pass an encryption key and/or to verify communications over a radio channel. The TET channel may be authenticated. For example, authentication may include a minimum energy and/or power transfer.

The method includes displaying, on a display of a computing system of the vehicle, a map of an environment external to the vehicle. The map includes a predicted drive path extending between an initial location of the vehicle and a final destination of the vehicle within the environment. The method further includes generating, by the computing system, and based on the predicted drive path, a prediction of the energy consumption of the vehicle along the one or more trajectories of the predicted drive path, and displaying, on the display of the computing system, the predicted energy consumption of the vehicle along the one or more trajectories of the predicted drive path. The predicted energy consumption of the vehicle is displayed so as to at least partially overlay the predicted drive path.

  • Patent number: 12168435
Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, an electric machine, a disconnect clutch, and a controller. The engine and the electric machine are each configured to generate power. The disconnect clutch is disposed between the engine and the electric machine. The controller is programmed to, in response to a command to start the engine, close the disconnect clutch to transfer power from the electric machine to the engine. The controller is further programmed to control the torque of the disconnect clutch via increasing a pressure applied to the disconnect clutch based on a first-order model of the pressure applied to the disconnect clutch. The controller is further programmed to adjust the model based on a difference between an expected pressure to the disconnect clutch and a measured pressure of the disconnect clutch during a time period prior to transferring torque through the disconnect clutch.

  • Patent number: 12090992
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a driveline of a hybrid vehicle are presented. In one example, a boost phase of a procedure to close a driveline disconnect clutch may be cut short in response to an engine changing state from not rotating to rotating so that the engine may be restarted in an alternative way. The system and methods may also predict a degraded engine start from a low engine cranking speed or a long cranking time duration so that the engine may be started in an alternative way to increase a possibility of starting the engine and decrease the severity of degraded driveline disturbance.

  • Publication number: 20240280368
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for generating energy consumption predictions for a vehicle, providing feedback on how to improve a rate of energy consumption of the vehicle, and generating recommendations (e.g., coaching) for improving an efficiency of energy consumption as a vehicle traverses a route (e.g., an off-road course). One or more of a rate of energy consumption of a vehicle or an amount of energy to be consumed by a vehicle arranged to traverse a route is predicted. Then one or more recommendations are provided to improve an efficiency of energy consumed by the vehicle while traversing the route. In response to determining the vehicle has completed the route, at least one recommendation is generated for improving an efficiency of energy consumption for a subsequent trip along the route.
