  • Publication number: 20150282162
Abstract: A radio network controller (RNC) receives a request to activate a packet data protocol (PDP) context for a wireless device operating in a forward access channel state. The RNC sends the request to activate PDP context to a core network node (CN). The RNC receives a request to assign a radio access bearer from the CN. The RNC sends a response to the request to assign a radio access bearer to the CN and initiates a timer. If the CN accepts the request to activate the PDP context prior to timer expiry, the RNC stops the timer and sends the wireless device the accept message followed by a request to reconfigure a radio bearer. Otherwise, if the timer expires, the RNC sends the wireless device the request to reconfigure the radio bearer followed by the accept message.

  • Patent number: 9019722
Abstract: A gas turbine engine installation is provided that has a plurality of flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) harnesses to transfer electrical signals, including electrical power, around a gas turbine engine. The plurality of FPCB harnesses is held to the gas turbine engine installation using clips that have at least two jaws. Each jaw has two sets of opposing teeth that do not intermesh, and cannot intermesh when pushed together. This allows more than one FPCB harness to be held by one clip without the risk of damaging the FPCB harnesses. Preventing the teeth from intermeshing also allows subsequent FPCB harnesses to be inserted into the clip without undue difficulty even after a first FPCB harness has already been inserted.

  • Publication number: 20130236931
Abstract: An in vitro system for generating sequence, and thus structural, diversity in proteins is described. The system can be constructed using appropriately selected nucleic acid molecules that encode regions of a selected protein or proteins and recombination signal sequences (RSS). The selected protein(s) can be, for example, immunoglobulin (Ig) V, D, J and/or C regions, regions of a non-immunoglobulin (non-Ig) protein, or a combination of Ig regions and non-Ig regions. Assembly of such appropriately selected components and their introduction into suitable recombination-competent host cells allows for recombination between the RSS sequences and introduction of sequence and structural diversity into the protein(s).

  • Patent number: 8488403
Abstract: An offset cancellation scheme for sense amplification is described. The scheme consists of group of transistors which are selectively coupled to high and low voltage levels via multi-phase timing. This results in a voltage level on sensing nodes of interest which are a function of transistor mismatch. The resulting voltage levels act to compensates for the transistor mismatch, thereby improving the reliability of the sense amplifier in the presence of process non-idealities. The offset cancellation scheme is applicable to numerous types of sense amplifiers, amplifiers, and comparators.

  • Patent number: 8454918
Abstract: Nanoporous sol-gel derived monoliths and methods for making nanoporous sol-gel derived monoliths are provided. The methods enable fine control over pore size and pore size distribution, e.g., so that pore sizes can be predetermined and precisely tuned over a range from 0.3 nm to about 30 nm, or over a range from about 0.3 nm to about 10 nm. The monoliths may be derived from any suitable sol-gel, but in some instances they are derived from silica sol-gels. The sol-gel derived monoliths with finely tunable pore sizes and narrow pore size distributions may be used for a variety of applications, e.g., as substrates or templates for high surface area electrodes, as substrates for high surface area sensor, or as a component in a filtration apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8431130
Abstract: The present invention encompasses IL-18 binding proteins, particularly antibodies that bind human interleukin-18 (hIL-18). Specifically, the invention relates to antibodies that are entirely human antibodies. Preferred antibodies have high affinity for hIL-18 and/or that neutralize hIL-18 activity in vitro and in vivo. An antibody of the invention can be a full-length antibody or an antigen-binding portion thereof. Method of making and method of using the antibodies of the invention are also provided. The antibodies, or antibody portions, of the invention are useful for detecting hIL-18 and for inhibiting hIL-18 activity, e.g., in a human subject suffering from a disorder in which hIL-18 activity is detrimental.
