    Abstract: A system for generating a machine learning system to generate guidance information based on locations of objects is provided. The system accesses training data that includes training time-of-arrival (“TOA”) information of looks and guidance information for each look. The guidance information is based on a training collection of object locations. The TOA of a look represents, for each object location of a training collection of object locations, times between signals transmitted by transmitters and return signals received by receivers. The return signals represent signals reflected from an object at the object location. The system trains a machine learning system using the training data wherein the machine learning system inputs TOA information and outputs guidance information.

    Abstract: A method, computer program product, and apparatus are provided for controlling components of a detection device. The device may detect turbidity of liquid with sensors such as a density sensor and/or nephelometric sensor. A light modulation pattern may reduce or eliminate interference in sensor readings. Readings may be performed during off cycles of an illumination light to reduce interference but to provide improved visibility of a tube. Dark and light sensor readings may be performed with an emitter respectively off or on to account for ambient light in subsequent readings. Readings from the density sensor and/or nephelometric sensor may be used to calculate McFarland values. The device may be zeroed based on an emitter level that results in a sensor reading satisfying a predetermined criterion.

    Abstract: A flatness control system includes a work stand of a finishing line, a plurality of actuators, a flatness measuring device, and a controller. The work stand includes a pair of vertically aligned work rolls. A first work roll of the pair of work rolls includes a plurality of flatness control zones configured to apply a localized pressure to a corresponding region on a substrate. Each actuator corresponds with a one of the plurality of flatness control zones. The flatness measuring device is configured to measure an actual flatness profile of the substrate. The controller is configured to adjust the plurality of actuators such that the localized pressures modify the actual flatness profile to achieve the desired flatness profile at the exit of the stand. The thickness and a length of the substrate remain substantially constant when the substrate exits the work stand.

    Abstract: In a power steering system employing an end of travel system including valve actuating rings disposed about a Pitman arm shaft, a device is provided for setting the positions of the rings on the shaft. The device includes a fixed member positioned about, and fixed against movement along, a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the shaft's rotational axis and a movable member that moves along the longitudinal axis relative to the fixed member. The movable member defines a pin at one end configured for engagement with the circumferential ends of the actuating rings. A positioning force applied to one of the members causes the movable member to move between set and reset positions in which the pin engages corresponding ends of the actuating rings during rotation of the shaft and a running position in which the pin remains disengaged from the ends of the actuating ring during rotation of the shaft.

A transverse magnetic field gradient coil is manufactured by laying electrical conductor (44) onto a mold (50) with a keying feature (46, 46a) extending along the conductor engaging a mating keying feature (52, 52a) of the mold that defines a winding pattern (56), attaching an insulating back plate (58) to the resulting coil section opposite from the mold, and removing the mold.

    Abstract: A grommet assembly includes a wire harness and a grommet including a hollow channel configured to receive the wire harness therein. At least one rib extends inwards from and substantially annularly about the interior surface of the hollow channel. At least one port configured to fluidly couple the hollow channel with an exterior environment is defined by the grommet. Material is injected into the channel through the port to secure the grommet relative to the wire harness. The material injected into the channel flows through interstices located between adjacent wires that define the wire harness so as to encapsulate the wires. The injected material also flows into other voids and openings located within the hollow channel. Upon setting, the injected material is configured to prevent movement of the grommet relative to the wire harness and to prevent the passage of contaminants through the grommet assembly.
