Patent number: 12203921Abstract: Methods and apparatus for long read, label-free, optical nanopore long chain molecule sequencing. In general, the present disclosure describes a novel sequencing technology based on the integration of nanochannels to deliver single long-chain molecules with widely spaced (>wavelength), ˜1-nm aperture “tortuous” nanopores that slow translocation sufficiently to provide massively parallel, single base resolution using optical techniques. A novel, directed self-assembly nanofabrication scheme using simple colloidal nanoparticles is used to form the nanopore arrays atop nanochannels that unfold the long chain molecules. At the surface of the nanoparticle array, strongly localized electromagnetic fields in engineered plasmonic/polaritonic structures allow for single base resolution using optical techniques.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Inventors: Steven R. J. Brueck, Jeremy Scott Edwards, Alexander Neumann, Yuliya Kuznetsova, Edgar A. Mendoza

Patent number: 12100072Abstract: A tinting material may be generated and applied to the backdrop of an application presented on a user interface. The user interface is presented on a display and includes a background. The background comprises a first color, which includes a luminosity value, a hue value, and a saturation value. A tint color, having a luminosity value, a hue value, a saturation value, and an opacity value, is received. The luminosity value of the first color is modified to generate a second color, and the hue value and saturation value of the generated second color are modified to generate a third color. A tinting material color is generated that includes the modified luminosity value of the second color, the modified hue value of the third color, and the modified saturation value of the third color, and an application is presented on the user interface that includes the tinting material color.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2022Date of Patent: September 24, 2024Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Spencer Israel Antonin Nataraja Hurd, Chigusa Yasuda Sansen, Christopher Nathaniel Raubacher, Simone Magurno, Jeremy Scott Knudsen

Patent number: 12099619Abstract: Systems and methods for ransomware protection in collaboration systems. One embodiment operates in conjunction with a collaboration system that manages one or more user devices that store device-local copies of content objects in storage areas of the one or more user devices. The collaboration system is accessed by the one or more user devices to facilitate collaboration activity over the content objects. Patterns of collaboration activity are classified, and in some cases, such patterns are deemed to be indicative of ransomware. If ransomware is indicated to be running on a user device, the collaboration system is notified that a ransomware process has been detected on the user device. The collaboration system delivers a prevention policy to other user devices that interface with the collaboration system. The prevention policy is in turn enforced by the other user devices to prevent synchronization of content object changes made by the ransomware.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2019Date of Patent: September 24, 2024Assignee: Box, Inc.Inventors: Alok Ojha, Advait D. Karande, Peter Loer, Jeremy Scott Spiegel

Patent number: 11944139Abstract: A protective shield configured to be disposed over an N95 respirator worn by a user includes piece of material defining a body, a flap, and a living hinge interconnecting the body and the flap. The flap is foldable relative to the body about the living hinge to fold under the chin with the body extending across the face. The body includes a center portion, from which the flap depends, and first and second wings extending laterally outwardly in opposite directions from the center portion. The body further includes a protruding portion extending vertically from an upper end of the center portion of the body opposite of and in vertical alignment with the living hinge. The protruding portion defines a V-shaped cut-out to facilitate bending of the body about a centerline of the center portion to enable conformance of the body about an N95 respirator and a user's nose.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2021Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Inventor: Jeremy Scott Filko

Publication number: 20240009084Abstract: The present specification describes a medicine dispensing system for automatically dispensing medication at a predetermined time. The system includes a cartridge that carries a strip of medicine pouches. When the cartridge is dropped into a dispensing unit, it automatically aligns with the dispensing unit without requiring any installation work from the user. The automatic alignment is enabled because of self-aligning features manufactured in the cartridge housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2023Publication date: January 11, 2024Inventors: John Michael Burton, JR., Michael Richard Floyd, Eric X.
