It was found that, as a result of binding to PD-L1 present on a surface of cancer cell, Salvia plebeia extract blocks the interaction between cancer cell and PD-1 present on a surface of immune T cell to activate T cells and exhibit an inhibitory effect on tumor proliferation. It was also found that, according to co-culture of cells of colon cancer, breast cancer, or lung cancer with T cells, the group treated with Salvia plebeia extract shows higher effect of causing cancer cell death.
