  • Patent number: 6943708
Abstract: A method and apparatus of converting a series of data words into modulated signals generates for each data words, a number of intermediate sequences by combining mutually different digital words with a data word, scrambles the intermediate sequences to form alternative sequences, translates each alternataive sequence into a (d,k) constrained sequences, measures for each (d,k) constrained sequences, not only an inclusion rate of an undesired sub-sequence but also a running DSV (Digital Sum Value), and selects one (d,k) constrained sequence having a small inclusion rate for recording on an optical or magneto-optical recording medium among the (d,k) constrained sequences having maximum value of running DSV, smaller than a preset limit. Accordingly, efficient DSV control can be achieved for even relatively-long sequences.

  • Publication number: 20050175385
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing a printed circuit board (PCB) with an embedded resistor, in which a resistor with a desired shape and volume is precisely formed using a resistor paste so that resistance values according to a position of the PCB are uniform, thereby a laser trimming process is omitted or minimally utilized. The method has advantages in that a production time of the PCB is shortened and productivity is improved because an operation condition is rapidly set without being greatly affected by the position precision of a printing device. Other advantages of the method are that the resistor paste with a relatively uniform thickness is secured through a screen printing process, thereby easily forming the resistor and improving resistance tolerance.

  • Patent number: 6871411
Abstract: An automatic calibration method for use in an electronic compass. Using the automatic calibration method, the electronic compass automatically calculates and corrects offset and scale values of a geomagnetic signal by detecting one rotation of a geomagnetic axis during a predetermined period of time. The electronic compass calculates an azimuth angle upon receiving geomagnetic data from the geomagnetic sensor, and finds maximum and minimum values of sensor signals of individual axes of the geomagnetic sensor using the received geomagnetic data such that it can correct or calibrate deviation of the azimuth angle. When a time consumed for calibration is the same or shorter than a maximum calibration effective time, the electronic compass determines whether a current state of the detected entry signal indicates a predetermined steady-state flow.
