  • Patent number: 9324149
Abstract: A method and use are described for disabling certain wireless communication device functionalities based on input from the device's user-facing camera. More particularly, image data of the user is collected, image analysis is used to extract certain metrics about the user, and if those metrics are in violation of one or more thresholds one or more device functionalities are disabled. The functionality may be disabled for a period of time or until the user's image metrics fall below one or more thresholds. The disabled device functionalities may also be extended to connected peripheral devices. Finally, records of threshold violations resulting in disabled device functionality may be stored on the device or a database and made available to third parties.

  • Publication number: 20160080241
Abstract: A system includes a speed service architecture (SSA) capable of supporting high throughput connectivity between a server and client. The SSA may allow for a bandwidth measurement for a connection between the server and client. In some cases, the SSA may offload the processing of the connectivity measurement resulting in little or no load on processing devices external to the SSA, for example, the host processors of the client and/or server. The SSA may use a stream generator to generate a test stream for transmission over the connection. The test stream may be received and analyzed by a stream analyzer. The stream analyzer may then report the measurement results to the client, server, or other device.

  • Patent number: 9158654
Abstract: A code verification tool verifies that code generated from a model represents all of the functionality of the model and does not contain any unintended functionality. The code verification tool may receive for examination a model or an intermediate representation (IR) of the model and the generated code or an intermediate representation of the generated code. The code verification tool may create further intermediate representations of the model and/or the generated code in order to compare the functionality presented in both.

Abstract: A downhole control system for actuating hydraulically controlled devices positioned in a well. The system includes a first set of N hydraulically controlled devices positioned in the well and a second set of at least one hydraulically controlled device positioned in the well. A common control line is ported to a first side of each of the hydraulically controlled devices in the first set. N control lines are each ported to a second side of one of the hydraulically controlled devices in the first set. A first control line of the N control lines is ported to a first side of a first hydraulically controlled device of the second set and a second control line of the N control lines is ported to a second side of the first hydraulically controlled device of the second set, such that N+1 control lines are operable to actuate N+1 hydraulically controlled devices.

  • Publication number: 20150109978
Abstract: A radio communication system comprises a radio transmitter (2), and a radio receiver (12) configured to receive radio transmissions from the transmitter. The transmitter (2) uses a transmitter clock signal to transmit a succession of connection-event data packets (22a?, 22b?, 22c?) according to a predetermined schedule. The receiver (12) enters a sleep state between receiving successive connection-event data packets from the transmitter (2), in which it does not receive and process radio transmissions from the transmitter. It uses a receiver clock signal to determine when a predetermined number of receiver clock cycles has elapsed after receiving one of the connection-event data packets (22b?), and then enters a ready state. The predetermined number of receiver clock cycles is the number of receiver clock cycles (34a) that elapsed between the respective receipts of two of the connection-event data packets (22a?, 22b?) received by the receiver (12) minus a correction factor (38).

  • Patent number: 8916664
Abstract: An ethylene oligomerization catalyst that oligmerizes ethylene to a series of ?-olefins and that has a Schulz-Flory constant of about 0.75 to 0.995 produces a stream of ?-olefins. This stream is then added to a vessel containing ethylene and a copolymerization catalyst that copolymerizes ethylene and ?-olefins. The resulting branched polyethylene often has good processing properties. The good processing is presumably due to the presence of “long chain branching”. Such polymers are useful for films and other packaging materials, and for molding resins for molding parts such as industrial, automotive or electrical parts.

  • Publication number: 20140344140
Abstract: Systems and methods which facilitate money transfer transactions to a receiving account are provided. Embodiments may provide for interaction between a money transfer service and one or more receiving account entities. Such interaction may be configured to cooperatively utilize transaction details in order to correctly route transferred funds to a receiving account. Embodiments may utilize this cooperation to prevent sensitive information from being widely distributed by parties which participate in a money transfer transaction.
