  • Patent number: 8365765
Abstract: A flow restriction member having a cylindrical body and two ends, a two-faced flange disposed radially about the body, and a hub formed by the outer surface of the body not otherwise disposed by the two-faced flange. The flow restriction member further includes a first conically-shaped circular torus opening disposed on one end of the body, the torus opening progressively reducing in cross-sectional area along the longitudinal axis into the body, a second conically-shaped circular torus opening disposed on the other end of the body, the torus opening progressively reducing in cross-sectional area along the longitudinal axis into the body, and a sill opening disposed between the first and the second torus openings, the sill opening of constant cross-sectional area along the longitudinal axis of the body. In one example, a handle disposed radially from the two-faced flange and an RFID tag disposed within the handle.

  • Publication number: 20130012659
Abstract: A lubricant component is a copolymer of ethylene and ?-olefins made by forming a series of ?-olefins by oligomerization of ethylene using an oligomerization catalyst, and then copolymerizing the ?-olefins and ethylene using a transition metalcontaining polymerization catalyst. The copolymer, which often has a high Viscosity Index, may be used, for example, in a lubricant as the base oil or a viscosity index modifier. The polyolefin may also be a component of a lubricant additive, meant to be added to an already formulated lubricant to improve the lubricant's properties.

  • Publication number: 20120315156
Abstract: An integral regulator and gauge for a vacuum device consists of a circular regulator having the vacuum gauge inside thereof such that the regulator and gauge rotate about a common radial axis. An opening defined in a boss extending from the bottom of the regulator engages a sloped shoulder defined on the inside surface of a circular port in which the regulator is disposed, varying the size of an opening which allows air to bleed into the vacuum chamber to regulate the strength of the vacuum.

  • Publication number: 20120309916
Abstract: An ethylene oligomerization catalyst that oligmerizes ethylene to a series of ?-olefins and that has a Schulz-Flory constant of about 0.75 to 0.995 produces a stream of ?-olefins. This stream is then added to a vessel containing ethylene and a copolymerization catalyst that copolymerizes ethylene and ?-olefins. The resulting branched polyethylene often has good processing properties. The good processing is presumably due to the presence of “long chain branching”. Such polymers are useful for films and other packaging materials, and for molding resins for molding parts such as industrial, automotive or electrical parts.

  • Publication number: 20120302809
Abstract: Higher molecular weight linear ?-olefins are produced by the oligomerization of ethylene using certain iron complexes of 2,6-diacylpyridinedimimines or 2,6-pyridinedicarboxaldehydedimines as catalysts. These iron complexes are more sterically hindered than those heretofore used. The resulting ?-olefins are useful as comonomers in olefin polymerizations.

  • Publication number: 20120271014
Abstract: A polymerization process for copolymerizing ethylene and a series of ?-olefins to form a branched polyethylene, in which the series of ?-olefins is generated in-situ by an ethylene oligomerization catalyst, is improved if the oligomerization catalyst has a Schulz-Flory constant of about 0.30 to about 0.55. This makes very little higher molecular weight ?-olefins, which allows for easy removal of unpolymerized ?-olefins from the polyolefin product.

  • Patent number: 8229104
Abstract: Audio processing systems, such as full duplex digital telephone systems, are provided in which analog automatic level control (ALC) circuitry is employed to automatically control and stabilize the microphone output audio signal levels to a constant level for optimal digital signal processing. For example, an audio communication device (10) includes a microphone (11) to generate an audio signal, an analog automatic level control (ALC) circuit (13), coupled to an output of the microphone (11), to control a level of the audio signal output from the microphone (11) and output a level-controlled audio signal, and a DSP (digital signal processing) circuit (14) to process the level-controlled audio signal output from the ALC circuit (13). The ALC (13) allows audio signals to be captured by the microphone (11) with wide dynamic range, while stabilizing the microphone output level within a reduced dynamic range compatible with the limited dynamic range of the DSP circuitry (14) for enhanced performance.

  • Publication number: 20120157686
Abstract: In an ?-olefin manufacturing process by the oligomerization of ethylene using an iron complex of a diimine of a 2,6-diacylpyridine or a 2,6-pyridinecarboxaldehyde, in which certain substituted iminoaryl groups are present, less higher molecular weight unwanted products are produced when the diimine and/or its precursor arylamine does not have impurities with substitution on a second ortho position to the imino group. This leads to less fouling of the process apparatus and higher yields of desired ?-olefins.
