  • Patent number: 11224925
Abstract: Cutting devices and associated methods are described. In one aspect, a cutting device includes an annular support body defining an axial space into which a pipe to be cut can be inserted, the body formed of a rigid material and including a blade-bearing portion and a non-blade-bearing portion, wherein the blade-bearing portion is secured to the non-blade-bearing portion by a hinge mechanism allowing the two portions to be movable between an open position in which a pipe can be inserted, and a closed position in which the pipe is engaged by the body, wherein a part of the blade-bearing portion spaced from the hinge mechanism includes a blade that protrudes radially inwards of the body, such that in use the urging of the two portions towards the closed position urges the pipe against the blade so that rotation of the cutting device around the pipe cuts the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20210319334
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a computer system for determining skill adjacencies using a machine learning model. A computer calculates first similarity scores between first skill vectors obtained from one or more training datasets and second similarity scores between the first skill vectors and skill category vectors pre-calculated from job requisitions, using both a reference corpus word embedding model and a target corpus word embedding model. The computer generates features extracted from the first similarity scores and the second similarity scores. Based on the features, the computer trains a machine learning model for classifying combinations of skills as adjacent and non-adjacent. The machine learning model is used to determine skill adjacencies between skills extracted from the job requisitions and skills extracted from resumes.

  • Patent number: 11052943
Abstract: A control system is configured to receive a first signal indicative of a current position of a vehicle and a second signal indicative of a desired path for the vehicle. The control system is configured to calculate a virtual path between the current position and a target position on the desired path and to output a third signal indicative of curvature command corresponding to an initial curvature of the virtual path to cause a steering control system of the vehicle to adjust a steering angle of the vehicle. The control is also configured to iteratively receive an updated current position, receive any updates to the desired path, calculate an updated target position, calculate an updated virtual path based on the updated current position and updated desired path, and output an updated curvature command corresponding to a respective initial curvature of the updated virtual path as the vehicle travels across a surface.
