  • Publication number: 20120019354
Abstract: Methods and devices for a wireless security controller that is able to receive data transmissions over multiple frequency channels and decode security messages that use different data protocols is provided. The security controller monitors an incoming security message transmission from a security sensor. As the transmission is received, the security controller analyzes the data, and determines whether is encoded using one of two or more different transmission protocols. The security controller then completes reception and error-checking of the received security message, and processes the security message.

  • Publication number: 20110203181
Abstract: A control system for a power assisted door, the electronic door control system includes an intelligent control, a plurality of sensor inputs operatively connected to the intelligent control, the plurality of sensor inputs associated with state of a plurality of mechanical components of the power assisted door, and a power drive operatively connected to the intelligent control for providing opening and closing of the power assisted door. The intelligent control is configured to monitor status of the plurality of sensor inputs and control the power drive at least partially based on the status of the plurality of sensor inputs. The intelligent control may be adapted to determine when state of the plurality of sensor inputs is indicative of one or more conditions which would preclude safe door movement. A power distribution module may also be present to assist in limiting current draw and to allow for charging.

  • Publication number: 20110150658
Abstract: A process of fabricating rotating hardware and rotating hardware formed thereby. The process includes fabricating at least two members that together define at least two portions of a component. Each member has an interface surface at which the members can be joined to locate a first of the portions in a radially outward direction from a second of the portions. The members are joined together so that the interface surfaces thereof form a joint interface located within a pad region that has a axial thickness that is greater than a contiguous region of the component. The joint interface is not perpendicular to the axial and radial directions of the component. The pad region is defined by embossments that are offset from each other in the radial direction of the component so as to partially but not completely overlap each other in the axial direction of the component.

  • Patent number: 7890612
Abstract: A network security device which acts as an “airlock” for traffic between a communications device and a network. Data is screened using rules based analysis by the security device to counter various threats, including viruses, phishing, attempts to “hijack” communications, communications with known malicious addresses or unknown addresses, and transmission of sensitive information. Data packets can be reassembled into files for screening, and decoded or expanded as necessary, but is never executed. The data path for the data being screened is kept separate from the operations of the network security device itself, so that the device is incorruptible—its programming cannot be compromised from outside sources. Updates for rules and entry of sensitive data for screening, etc., must be done through a physical interface, not via the normal data communications channel. The device is invisible—it cannot be “seen” by the network, and thus cannot be attacked.

  • Publication number: 20110003707
Abstract: Cardiovascular disease, e.g., congestive heart failure, is often first diagnosed after the onset of clinical symptoms, eliminating potential for early intervention. The invention provides a multi-marker immunoassay, including cardiac pathology and vascular inflammation biomarkers, yielding a more sensitive assay for early detection of CHF in plasma. A panel consisting of cardiac pathology (cTnI, BNP) and vascular inflammation (IL-6, TNF?, IL-17a) biomarkers provided a sensitivity of 94% for association with CHF.

  • Publication number: 20090163426
Abstract: The invention provides novel peptide prodrugs which contain cleavage sites specifically cleaved by prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA). These prodrugs are useful for substantially inhibiting the non-specific toxicity of a variety of therapeutic drugs. PSMA is secreted by prostatic glandular cells. Upon cleavage of the prodrug by PSMA, the therapeutic drugs are activated and exert their toxicity. Sesquiterpene-?-lactones form part of the prodrugs, and are designed to be linked to carrier moieties such as the peptides of the invention. Methods for treating cell proliferative disorders are also featured in the invention.
