  • Publication number: 20070129953
Abstract: Systems and methods for information strategy management enable users to define and automate the flow and use of business intelligence within an organization. Users who to receive specific business intelligence content are identified by reference to their roles within the organization. The content, and conditions under which it is sent, are definable with reference to variables associated with specific users or roles. Next steps suggesting specific tasks to be performed in response to the content may also be sent to users in association with the content. User activity in response to received content or next steps may be recorded, enabling an organization to monitor how information is being used.

  • Publication number: 20070075444
Abstract: An assembly comprising first and second electronic devices and an optical coupling device that optically couples an optical waveguide on the first electronic device to an optical waveguide on the second electronic device. In this way, optical proximity communication between the devices is possible. The electronic devices may be integrated circuit chips. The first optical waveguide is positioned relative to the optical coupling device to direct an optical signal to the optical coupling device. Further, the second optical waveguide is positioned relative to the optical coupling device to receive the optical signal, which is directed from the optical coupling device to the second optical waveguide. Thus, the optical coupling device optically couples the first optical waveguide to the second optical waveguide.

  • Publication number: 20070075443
Abstract: An assembly comprising first and second electronic devices and an optical resonator that optically couples an optical waveguide on the first electronic device to an optical waveguide on the second electronic device. In this way, optical proximity communication between the devices is possible. The electronic devices may be integrated circuit chips. A first portion of an optical resonator is disposed in a pit of the first device to optically couple the optical resonator to the first optical waveguide. A second portion of the optical resonator is disposed in a pit of the second device to optically couple the optical resonator to the second optical waveguide. Thus, the optical resonator optically couples the first optical waveguide to the second optical waveguide.

  • Publication number: 20070075442
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates precise inter-chip alignment for proximity communication and power delivery. The system includes a first integrated circuit chip, whose surface has etch pit wells. The system also includes a second integrated circuit chip, whose surface has corresponding etch pit wells configured to align with the etch pit wells of the first integrated circuit chip. A shaped structure is placed in an etch pit well of the first integrated circuit chip such that when the corresponding etch pit well of the second integrated circuit chip is substantially aligned with the etch pit well of the first integrated circuit chip, the shaped structure mates with both the etch pit well of the first integrated circuit chip and with the corresponding etch pit well of the second integrated circuit chip, thereby precisely aligning the first integrated circuit chip with the second integrated circuit chip.

  • Patent number: 7184978
Abstract: Systems and methods that facilitate selection of particular equipment desired to be leased through contract execution are described herein. In one exemplary embodiment, the system includes a server having a database for storing data relating to an aircraft fleet. The stored data includes specific information relating to aircraft in the fleet, as well as terms of existing leases for those aircraft in the fleet then currently leased. The system is accessible to the customer via a network such as a wide area network, e.g., an extranet accessible via the Internet, so that the customer can query the database and identify aircraft the meets specific mission requirements. The system facilitates meeting customer requirements in that a customer can readily select, via the system, multiple aircraft desired for lease without requiring involvement of the marketing executive. Such selections can be made by the customer any time, anywhere, at the customers convenience.

  • Publication number: 20060194635
Abstract: The invention provides a structure that positions rotating shafts and allows continuing transmission of rotary motion between shafts or shaft segments that are not aligned with one another or that may from time to time become misaligned. The invention reduces the undesirable effect of torque or torsional transients on rotary positioning and continued transmission of rotary motion, as well as reducing vibration resulting from linear or other angular displacement on either side of the joint. The structure comprises opposing outer and inner plates, each engaging a corresponding shaft or shaft segment. The plates define a plurality of holes that support flexible members. The flexible members extend through the plates on adjacent shafts or shaft segments around the shaft ends. Torque may be transmitted from one shaft to another by the flexible members.

  • Publication number: 20060101405
Abstract: A system that facilitates debugging of a computing cluster and/or distributed applications environment. A debugger component receives a debugging expression, and a constraint component includes both a static constraint engine (SCE) and a dynamic constraint engine (DCE) processes the debugging expression to automatically perform a debugging process on at least two processes of a plurality of processes. When the user creates a tracepoint or constraint breakpoint the expression is sent directly to the SCE, which parses the constraint and tracepoint expressions, reduces the expression by evaluating parts of the expression based on static values (such as process ID or filename), and passes the remainder on to each of the applicable DCEs. The DCEs register a breakpoint at the applicable location in the process, and upon receiving a breakpoint event, evaluates the remainder of the constraint expression on the dynamic data, and sends log and/or break event data back to the user for viewing.
