  • Patent number: 7579184
Abstract: Conductimetric assay devices that have both low end and high end sensitivity are described. The geometric shape and/or arrangement of the capture zones make it possible for the assay devices to have both low end and high end sensitivity. Also described is a conductimetric assay device having a pre-capture zone to capture unbound analyte. The assay device overcomes the problem of flooding by the analyte.

  • Publication number: 20090200216
Abstract: A treatment station for a water drainage conduit has a chamber with an inlet and outlet in fluid communication with upstream and downstream sections of the conduit and a sediment collection portion. Water enters the chamber via the inlet, collecting in the sediment collection portion until it reaches a level in the chamber such that it flows out of the outlet. A filter is mountable above the sediment collection portion for the upwards-flowing filtration of water passing through the chamber to remove organic contaminants. Access means are provided for removal and replacement of the filter and removal of solid material deposited in the sediment collection portion. The treatment station may also have by pass means which operate where the flow of water exceeds a rate which can flow through the filter and preliminary sediment collection chamber for collecting large quantities of sediment. Uses of the treatment station are also described.

  • Publication number: 20090138855
Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for facilitating a feedback process regarding the impact that changes to source code will have on tests. Changes contained in at least one source code file are analyzed in combination with code coverage information contained in a data store for a plurality of tests to determine when any of the tests will be impacted by the changes. When at least one test is determined to be impacted by the changes made to the source code file, a warning notification is displayed to a user to notify the user of a possible impact of the changes on the at least one test.

  • Patent number: 7500642
Abstract: A pipe support is provided that includes a frame capable of being placed around an existing pipe and a plurality of support members within the frame. The frame is a hollow cylinder that includes two connectable halves divided along the diameter of the hollow cylinder. The pipe support includes two bearing rings connected to the frame for supporting each of the plurality of members at a minimum of two contact points. Each of the two bearing rings include bearing points for each support member arranged in a cylindrical pattern concentric with the hollow cylinder frame. The pipe support includes means for rotating each of the support members at a first contact point with respect to a second contact point so that the support members engage a pipe placed within the pipe support. The support members are rods that provide vibration isolation to a pipe placed within the pipe support.

  • Patent number: 7497781
Abstract: A structure that positions rotating shafts and allows continuing transmission of rotary motion between shafts or shaft segments that are not aligned with one another or that may from time to time become misaligned. The invention reduces the undesirable effect of torque or torsional transients on rotary positioning and continued transmission of rotary motion, as well as reducing vibration resulting from linear or other angular displacement on either side of the joint. The structure comprises opposing outer and inner plates, each engaging a corresponding shaft or shaft segment. The plates define a plurality of holes that support flexible members. The flexible members extend through the plates on adjacent shafts or shaft segments around the shaft ends. Torque may be transmitted from one shaft to another by the flexible members.

  • Publication number: 20080018000
Abstract: A system that facilitates precise inter-chip alignment. The system includes a first integrated circuit chip, whose surface has etch pit wells. The system also includes a second integrated circuit chip, whose surface has corresponding etch pit wells that mate with the etch pit wells of the first integrated circuit chip. Spherical balls are placed in the etch pit wells of the first integrated circuit chip such that when the corresponding etch pit wells of the second integrated circuit chip are substantially aligned with the spherical balls, the spherical balls mate with the etch well pits of the second integrated circuit chip, thereby precisely aligning the first integrated circuit chip with the second integrated circuit chip.
