  • Publication number: 20150158629
Abstract: A transport pallet comprising a chassis for supporting goods to be transported, and having feet extending below the chassis for supporting the chassis with a lifting fork space beneath the chassis. The pallet also includes legs provided around the perimeter of the chassis. The legs enable the pallets to be stacked one on another, and have a hollow upper portion and/or a hollow lower portion. Leg extensions are also provided for fitting into the hollow legs to provide separation between the chassis of the stacked pallets. These can be height adjusted. The pallets are generally made of steel or aluminium but can also be made of plastics material having a metal centre.

  • Publication number: 20140372028
Abstract: A localization scheme and method using a laser sensor for indoor wheeled mobile robots (IWMR), which need to localize themselves for working autonomously, is provided. In this method, a laser sensor moves inside an onboard guide way and its distance measurements are used to robustly detect and recognize a unique target based on edge detection and pattern recognition techniques. From the distance measurements with respect to the recognized target, a kinematic model is developed to determine the IWMR orientation and location in the global co-ordinates (in 2-D). Such target recognition and localization methods are validated with experimental results.

  • Patent number: 8717930
Abstract: An access point allows access from at least one user device, which may be a wireless device or a wired local area network device. The access point has radio frequency transceiver circuitry for communicating over a wireless link with a base station selected from a plurality of available base stations, and an antenna, having an adjustable preferred direction for transmission and reception of radio frequency signals. Control circuitry selects a preferred direction for the antenna such that the access point can establish a wireless link with one of said base stations, based on a data rate that is available over the wireless link.

  • Publication number: 20140117151
Abstract: A wing fold system may move a second portion of a wing with respect to a first portion of the wing between flight position 301 and folded position 303. A first link may rotate in response to actuating an actuator. A second link may move in response to rotating of the first link. The second portion of the wing may move in response to moving the second link and the second portion may move with respect to the first portion of the wing. One of the first portion and the second portion may be a fixed portion of the wing and the other of the first portion and the second portion may be a wingtip of the wing.
