    Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices and systems for stimulating and manipulating tissue, such as skin, fascia and muscle tissue, to reduce pain or discomfort. In one aspect, a tissue stimulation and manipulation device includes a manipulating head having a casing with an application area configured to contact at least one site of a subject; and a propulsion source capable of producing mechanical motion or linear energy; the propulsion source and application area are operatively positioned relative to one another such that the propulsion source and contact portions on the application area cooperate to manipulate tissue at the site of the subject. Also disclosed herein are methods for using the disclosed devices and systems to treat skin, fascia and muscle tissue.

A first portion of the wing may hold a rotating portion of the latch assembly. A second portion of the wing may hold a secured portion of the latch assembly. The rotating portion of the latch assembly may rotate between an open position and a closed position. A slot in the rotating portion may receive the secured portion of the latch assembly. A securing portion of the rotating portion may secure a secured portion of the latch assembly. The latch assembly may prevent rotation of the second portion when the wing may be in the flight position.

    Abstract: An inertial measurement unit includes a substrate having MEMS gyroscopes arranged on the substrate as opposing pairs. The gyroscopes of each opposing pair are arranged on opposite sides of an axis of rotation of the substrate and each opposing pair has a central axis that intersects an axis of rotation of the substrate. A processor receives a rotational measurement from each gyroscope, compares the measurements from gyroscopes of each opposing pair, determines a mean or median rotation value for each opposing pair, and compares the mean or median rotation value with a threshold value. The processor assigns a weight to the mean or median value for each opposing pair and determines a rotation of the cuboid inertial measurement unit based on the mean or median value for each opposing pair and the respective weight for the mean or median value for each opposing pair.

An inhibitory polypeptide blocks ROCK1 activity in the presence of 1 mM ATP. The binding epitope on ROCK1 was mapped using chemical cross-linking to the Activation Loop, a novel locus identifying a new class of inhibitory drugs. The peptides described will be useful against a number of important diseases such as heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, arterial hypertension, glaucoma management, insulin resistance, kidney disease, hemolytic anemia, stroke, ischemia reperfusion injury, or acute myeloid leukemia.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for treating oil sands tailings streams using multiple dosages of lime are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the method comprises providing a tailings stream including 3-40% solids by total weight, combining the tailings stream with a first dosage of lime to produce a first mixture having a pH of less than 12.0, and then combining the first mixture with a polymer to produce a second mixture. In some embodiments, the method can further include combining the second mixture with a second dosage of lime to produce a third mixture having a pH greater than 12.0, and dewatering the third mixture in a centrifuge unit and/or a pressure filtration unit to produce a product stream having 55% or more solids by weight.

    Abstract: A plant growth measurement and prediction system uses drone-captured images to measure the current growth of particular plant species and/or to predict future growth of the plant species. For example, the system instructs a drone to fly along a flight path and capture images of the land below. The captured images may include both thermographic images and high-resolution images. The system processes the images to create an orthomosaic image of the land, where each pixel in the orthomosaic image is associated with a brightness temperature. The system then uses plant species to brightness temperature mappings and the orthomosaic image to identify current plant growth. The system generates a diagnostic model using the orthomosaic image to then predict future plant growth.
